ns--I do think posters self-censor because they don't want to be deleted. That is OK. They can use a more relevant forum if they wish. I do.

I don't see how this is good commentary for the moderators. If a thread is perfectly acceptable and they remove it for no other reason than someone complained then that's not a good moderator.
But she's talking about "threads on politics," which are expressly prohibited by the Standards. The thread by definition is not acceptable. We all just hope that when we post politically, that we may be the exception. Sometimes it does slip through the cracks. But how can we be upset when it doesn't, when it gets deleted?
We should be grateful for the ones that are left standing. They are the outliers. But the fact remains that they are a breach of the written rules.
Don't kill me the messenger here.

To make a general statement that those of us who find this place a snooze fest, enjoyed the fighting, is somewhat presumtuous and insulting.
I didn't enjoy that at all.
With that being said, I do miss some of the lively discussions we used to have here. I learned a lot by reading and posting in VP's......the political discussions would prompt me to google things I was not familiar with. We also have a lot of polically savvy posters (on both sides) that would share a lot of interesting information.
I miss that.

@jubilant yes, topics must be light & ariy at all times -- and of course the hosts all want to be our friends! yeah right. I don't want to be friends on FB with the hosts so they can give me sneak peeks of items. How about if the hosts just do their jobs and present the information sufficiently about the item on air instead of yapping about all of the off topic things they discuss?
then of course there is the information online as part of the descriptions which is only marginally adequate to allow a shopper to make informed decisions.
One of the things I used to look for on the boards was information about a product that QVC might be going to sell and see if others had more than what I was going to find on QVC about it. With the way the boards are setup now (all the topics glopped together except for the ones separated out into My favorite brands), it is more difficult to find and share information.
So yes, I shop elsewhere and post less her than I did before the forum change. Well the shopping elsewhere took place before that but that was due to QVCs ongoing issues with what IMO were too many issues with inconsistent sizing, pricing & variety of products.

except I don't think that ALL of us wanted the same rules. Certainly I recall participating and saying that I was NOT interested in havingQVC staff interact with the posters.

But, @GinaV24, can you imagine everyone having a veto over what the standards/guidelines should be on a BB? One opinion would cancel another out, so no BB. If you started a private BB, would you expect everyone to have a veto vote on everything, especially if it was a corporate BB? This isn't a government run BB.

It works both ways @ Lotus. When I joined this BB, I figured is was to discuss matters that some seem to find anti-intelligentsia. I personally don't mind that non-shopping topics are discussed, but I don't want to be put down because I choose to post on beauty, fashion and post pics of cats.

The whole place is a snoozefest from the way the board is set up with a poor quote feature to the lack of interesting discussions and posters. I stop in once in awhile hoping for some change but leave again promptly. Blech!
