I'm not upset about it --- just kind of shocked.  Where did all the time go?  I feel like I'm still in my 20s.

@Mellie32 :  Congrats on your big birthday.  I remember 40 fondly as that's when I got married (had my only child at 45). You have more time ahead of you than behind.

Tell me about it, I am hitting 60 in the fall!  Yikes, I am actually still fretting about 50!!

Time does have a way of escaping us.  It's funny, I still feel 40ish and look it (somewhat,

unless people are just being kind)  LOL.......It really takes a lifetime to learn how to live life.   In the blink of an eye 10 years passes so enjoy each and everday

For me, the most difficult time was when I turned 30.   For some reason, that bothered me the most.   I have no idea why leaving my 20's seemed to have such an impact on me.  

Once I got over the 30 year mark the rest of the birthday's didn't bother me.   I know hitting 40 seems to be a big one for many people but I just took it in stride.  

At this time in life, I wouldn't want to go back to being in my 20's for anything.   I always tell my husband if I could go back in time I would go back to being in my 40's.  I think for many people that is a good time in life.   You are usually established in your job and have acquired some things in life and you are usually a pretty stable person. 

I hope you have a wonderful birthday @Mellie32..  As another poster told you, your best years are still ahead of you.
