I have tried so hard to be patient as I know this world was turned on its head for the past year, but my goodness! I would think the USPS would start to be getting back on track. I work at a job that I have to send packets of important info out to people via the mail and it is taking a month (sometimes more) to get to them and they are local! I wish I could just hand-deliver things at this point!
I had ordered some things from a retail place and it is stuck in California. It's been there for three days with no movement.
I just think of people who have to get things through the mail (medicine, medical supplies, etc) thay have to wait and wait to receive them.
We have a friend who works for the USPS and he said this is no longer about COVID and people being out. It's about the Post Master General. His bottom line is making it cost more and taking longer. I personally think this is unacceptable! But what can I do about it- not a darn thing! So....we wait.

Get used to this. DeJoy is ruling USPS with a iron fist. Delay and more delay. His idea of efficiency

I feel your pain! The days of the USPS being dependable I'm afraid are gone for good and Covid was just a convenient, temporary excuse. I have been stalking a QVC package since late March. The tracking trail went cold and hadn't been updated since April 2 when there was a comment something like "delivery may take longer than expected". I put in an inquiry on the USPS website on Weds. Thursday (yesterday) I got a response from the inquiry to the effect that they had never received the package from the sender. I was going to call QVC today to get a refund when - SURPRISE! - the package was in my mailbox yesterday!?!?!
Work related, I just got an invoice returned as undeliverable that I sent out to a customer in NOVEMBER. In the meantime I had sent a copy of the invoice via email and it has long since been paid.
My local PO is quite often closed during regular hours, with the mail drop-boxes outside left overflowing.

I understand your frustration. One thing I found over these last few months, is that you cannot completely trust the TRACKING info you are given. I was looking online at my tracking of an important package I was waiting for and the tracking showed it to still be 800 miles away. Imagine my surprise when the doorbell rang and I was handed my package.....merely 3 minutes after I had seen the tracking info showing it still 800 miles away!

We are getting bills late (I'm aware we're not the only ones). We even got 2 bills in the same month from Sam's Club (one from the previous month, and one from the current month). Good grief!
I'm my warped mind, I feel this is just another way for people to pay bills online (which I don't like).
It's hard to send out things like birthday cards or event invites, as you have no idea how long it will take to get there.
Gesh! At this rate- better get Christmas cards out next week for them to get there by Christmas!! Ha! Ha!

I went to mail a letter after hours at the drop box located in the driveway of our local post office and it was so full it was starting to come out of the opening to insert letters. And this was one of those big double wide freestanding drop box.

@itsmagic SMH.
There are pictures floating around of the USPS terminal in Baltimore with bins overflowing with mail.

I don't mind paying bills on line, but I do like to get a hard copy of the bill in the mail. I have had instances where a bill was sent by email but ended up in my spam and I missed it, incurring late fees.
And, I HATE auto-pay! I will pay my bills on MY schedule, thankyouverymuch!

You must live near me. Our local postal processing/ distribution center has been audited because of poor performance. It says that between Jan.1, 2019 and Aug. 31, 2020 1/3 of the mail was considered delayed. But, they say, the # may be inflated. Mail was late getting to that point, processing steps were skipped, etc. They'll try and do better. We can only hope. After that, you can hope that the mail isn't misdelivered.

And please understand- I am NOT blaming the postal workers. They are working themselves to the bone. Even delivering some things on Easter Sunday!
