I'm dreading New Years Eve

I've read the posts about Christmas and got me to thinking about new years.

Every year since I can remember I've always found NYE to be depressing.

we've gone out a few years and it was ok but now we stay home and have another couple come. I still find it depressing, everyone out having a fabulous time and I'm at home. Also, I guess the thoughts of a new year and another year older and closer to being elderly is scary to me too.

anyone else feel this way around New years?
