My dog stalks me whenever I get up just in case I walk into  the kitchen or go near her treat boxes.

Years ago, a friend of ours used to put a few peanuts out for the squirrels.  One day, when he came home from work, a squirrel was sitting on his kitchen window sill, tapping on the window.  Smiley LOL

"I've been here since October 2006. Wow!"

Oh my goodness, I was a bit hesitant to open this thread but am so glad I did . . . when I was taking care of my mom we would feed the critters that would come visit our yard as my mom would love to watch them throughout the day.

One day out of the blue came this tiny squirrel who clearly was the chihuahua of the squirrel kingdom and was the bossiest thing ever.  We always looked forward to his arrival as it was so funny to see something so much smaller than his peers just totally run roughshod over anyone else.

Fast forward to a really tough winter which he survived but then we got a huge and unexpected snowstorm . . . I assumed the worst as I was unable to feed anything as we were completely snowed in . . . a couple days later I look out the back door and there he was on one of our planters, covered in snow and furious! . . . I threw as much seed as I could out there andhe dove in but I will never forget that day as long as I live . . . Smiley Happy

My uncle lived on the lake and used to sit on his deck and coax squirrels to take nuts from his hands and they would sit on his knee.  This went on for a couple of years.  When he got tired of doing it they started shaking his screens.  Then they tore apart the planters on his deck.  The tore his geraniums out.  I know some of my neighbors feed them because I keep finding peanuts buried in my pots.

@DiAnne ah yes another memory . . . after my mom really got sick and no longer enjoyed watching the critters I cut back on their chow as it was creating a huge mess in the backyard let alone the cost . . . fast forward to retrieving the mail/UPS packages one day and finding a squirrel climbing our screen door . . . fast forward again to mtc socking said squirrel with said UPS box through the screen door and sending him flying about 10 feet . . . never happened again (and please know I consider myself very lucky as I have seen the destruction those little critters can do).
