I was outside playing basketball with two of my grandchildren (boy 11, girl 14), when the ball got away from us and rolled down the hilly driveway.

When my grandson went to get it, he yelled, "Oh yuck--a smashed bullfrog!" We were all three looking at it when I made what I thought was a good joke, singing "Jeremiah was a bullfrog...."

They looked at me, completely baffled. They didn't know the song! How could I have neglected to teach them "Joy to the World"? I'm such a failure!
