@dulwich I love it!! That's the fun of being a granny! I think it's great that you wore your tiara!

Many years ago my younger granddaughter had a little kid makeup kit. I was over there one day and she asked to make me up! I got one color of lip gloss and another (clashing) shade of blush! I proudly wore them to go shopping at Albertson's!

I told the checker "This is what happens when your granddaughter does your makeup".  I left it on all day until I cleaned it off that night.  A priceless memory.

@dulwich,

😄

What a wonderful story!

One which I'm sure you will share with your GD and family so many times.

And I'm sure we would all love to be your friend. ("crazy Brit" and all!)😊

Met new ladies, chatted, very pleasant - get home DH looks at me and says 'Did ladies like your princess tiara'.

Oh my playing with GD had put on very garish, silver, sparkly, tiara with big red glass jewels, glass teardrops and still had it on.  Would add I have very curly hair all over - but a bl--dy tiara plus stuck on one tip half a gummy bear!

but.....no - one said a word, too polite to newcomer.  I reckon I am now known as that mad Brit lady!

OMG @dulwich  That is hilarious!  I can't believe no one commented about it at all, if only to comment on your "individual style."  I think Lori Goldstein would love this story!  Try to talk on the air tonight! 🤣

@dulwich , Princess D, I guess by now they have all stopped laughing after talking about you and your tiara. Are you planning to say anything about it? You should lol.  What are you planning to wear next time?

I'm surprised no one commented about your tiara.

Not only are you a princess in a sticky tiara, but you are a prize for a mother or grandmother or just a dear friend.  These moments your grandchildren will cherish.  Believe me.  These are very precious memories.

@Sage04  You have to know where I am coming from.

Being Brit I cannot relate always to ladies here as totally different lifestyles, schooling, etc. and  I have met with some hostility about my accent - so I am very tentative and tend to take a backseat when meeting new ladies to see 'how the land lies' - so being invited to meet is quite exciting for me a chance to maybe make new acquaintances.

 We were in Arizona and met some great ladies there - harder here in CA with Covid etc,, but we'll see if tiara worked! Lol.

So probably will not be a next time -  but we'll see.
