I know there are people here it really upsets as I have heard them express it in the past. In fact, I myself can't watch those abused dog commercials on tv. I turn the channel. I can't explain why I didn't think of it this time. I truely am sorry to all I offended.
I'll defend you on this one. I don't think this is so over the top that it needed a warning. Yes it's abusive but it's not like some of the stories people post about that give people nightmares and make them cry for days. I wouldn't have read it if it had read animal abuse in the title because I don't want to read the horrific stories.

@Lali1 I'm glad you weren't offended. The dog was (I think) a white german shepherd. He didn't look terrible or abused but his life was in grave danger. That road is narrower than most. I was coming toward the dog and truck which is part of the reason I couldn't get a license plate number. I had to come to almost a stop to miss hitting him (or her). That meant the woman driving the truck looked right into my window and I into hers. I gave her a look of shock as if to say, "What in the world are you doing, woman"??

She's ignorant and careless. Obviously does not see her dog as a child or family member like many of us do. She put the dog and everyone around in danger. Maybe she got caught and spoken to. Sometimes that's enough to embarrass someone and make them realize how stupid they were.
I called animal control on my neighbor because he walked right in front of my vehicle driving down the street to shoot a squirrel.

@Lali1 ..Ignorant is a good word for it. I also think it shows a lack of compassion for animals. I could never put my dog or (any dog for that matter) in harms way like that. I don't trust people that don't care any more than this for a living breathing being and one of God's creatures.

@jubilant wrote:I just witnessed dog abuse and am trying to calm down. I was coming home from the P.O. in town on a two lane road that is well traveled. Coming towards me, I see a rather large dog running down the middle of the road but staying on that middle line. As I got closer, I realized a full size white pick- up truck with a leash hanging out the drivers side window with a dog on the leash running down the middle line in the road! If I would have veered left I would have hit that dog. She could only go as fast as the dog could run so there was a school bus and a couple of cars lined up behind her. What is wrong with that woman???
I hope you called the police.
