Got rid of the landline years ago. Now, I get the spam calls on my cell phone. Don't really think there is a way to get rid of them all.
I did find a feature on my iphone that stops my phone from ringing from calls that are not in my contact list. Wish I had found it earlier.

I "ported" my long-standing landline number to my cell phone at least 12 years ago and have not looked back. Very few problems with "junk" calls and I am sure I have saved thousands of dollars.
Even security systems don't require a landline anymore. I don't know why anyone has one either. Our last landline was in 2006.

Cell phone reception in-home isn't good for some people, so a landline is necessary as a practical matter.
It bugs me when people call my landline - from their cell phone, at their home - and they keep breaking up. I don't endure it. I just ask them to call back when they're in a better cell. That way, the inconvenience is on them.

Sheesh! I got one at 7am this morning from SS (yeah right) and my account with them "is seriously compromised"! Who the heck falls for this? The scammers/crooks seem to be working overtime from home and they call at all hours now. 6am-10pm. I now just set it straight to answer.

They are more than likely robo calls, they dont leave messages as a general rule. Either put up with them or get rid of your landline.

@silkyk Unfortunately they prey upon the elderly, some may not be aware it's a scam and can get into trouble.

I have been getting daily calls that come up National Grid, some ring once others ring until the answering machine picks up. Anyway I did the reverse phone look up, it said in bold red letters high risk of fraud and scam. I guess they spoof the number hoping you,'ll pick up.

All my contacts including doctors, etc. have their own specific ringtones, so if I hear the standard ringtone I know I don't even have to look at the phone; I just do not answer.
No landline-we rid that years ago.
I have received some unwanted texts lately but I just delete without opening them up and reading them.

I just got a phone, the Caller ID was a name I didn't recognize, so I didn't pick up. This woman proceeds to leave me a message, reading me scripture, talking about God. She also advised me to checkout their website. I have an unlisted phone number, I have gotten these calls before, what good is an unlisted phone number if your still subject to unwanted calls?
