Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

@Jordan2 My Landline is getting a lot of calls now too. And I do have Nomorerobo and Anonymous calls blocked. I also think that they may be political. Looks like this will be the norm for the next few months. Woman Frustrated

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

We decided to turn our ringer off some time ago. The phone would ring and I’d have to stop what I was doing to be interrupted to go see who was calling. It was never anyone and not worth answering so I didn’t. And a message can still be left if needed. We have cell phones and anyone who knows us have our numbers. It’s been much more peaceful.

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

@queendiva The ONLY reason that I have a landline is that Comcast, in my area, actually give a less expensive rate on a "triple play" package (cable/internet and landline) than they do on a cable and internet only package. A lot of people I know have a landline because of this pricing.

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

On a couple occasions someone was giving out my number either accidentally or as a fake number. One week, I got a bunch of calls and voicemails all at once. Someone's shift manager needed to talk to me urgently, an Army recruiter told me when my appointment was, the person's mom left me a stressed out message letting me know the shift manager had called her, and I got some fairly flirty text messages from someone who said she met me at a bar. (I called the mom and the shift manager back because I didn't want the guy to lose his job.)

Then the calls stopped almost as abruptly as they started. I think maybe the young man had gotten a new number and wrote it down wrong or memorized it wrong? I was entertained.

So @Jordan2 maybe someone has your number by mistake and is expecting you to recognize their number and call back. Not much to do about it. I hope it stops for you soon.

I have a landline because I would rather talk on one.  Less static and cutting out.

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

Our phone rings all day.  We also have Caller ID so usually don't pick up, but when my husband is bored sometimes he does.  It's usually a Chinese company (no English spoken) or an insurance company trying to sell him a car warranty.  Very few polls.

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

I've been seeing an increase in calls, of late, also.   I don't know what they are, as I don't answer them and I turned the voicemail for my landline off a long time ago.  But it seems that nomorobo really does catch the majority of them, thankfully.   Smiley Happy

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

This is an ongoing problem and has nothing to do with politics - my friends and I receive at least 5 calls a day - they are for lowing interest on credit cards (I don't have any), for your Apple device (don't own one), for car insurance (don't own a car), for my Amazon Credit Card Account (don't have one), from supposedly Medicare, from the fake IRS etc etc.

Recently, I am getting 3 calls a day, from March of Dimes - all from different telephone numbers.

All have been reported to no avail.

Re: I'm Getting Really Annoyed

It this has really gotten to you, get rid of the land line.  If it were me I think I would have thrown it thru the window.

Get some kind phone that will allow you to control who gets in.

I have some who can call 24/7, more who can call/message when I flip the switch, and blocked ones.  But strangers can call and leave a message without a sound, then I can decide which silo to put them in.
