This probably won't make a bit of sense.  When I saw the original film I cried only during the opening scenes. 

 

When Rafiki holds Simba up to present him to the animal kingdom and I see all of the animals rejoicing at the birth I'm smiling.  When all of the animals in the kingdom stop and bow their heads and kneel out of respect - that's all she wrote, I get teary eyed.

 

I just watched the opening scenes from the CGI 2019 Lion King to see if I would have a different reaction.  Nope, lol, still brought tears to my eyes.

 

 

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

well.......i've never seen the cartoon version one either. and i have raised 2 kids and have 3 grandchildren!! Ive heard the music though. I really want to see this computer generated version!!   its too bad that they glorify Beyonce so much with this version. I wanted to watch the special last night with Robin Roberts, but they pratically rolled out the red carpet for the Queen B.  she is not that special. JMO.
