Re: I love to hear the name Kennebunkport

@qualitygal

I like that one, too!

I like the way British people on t.v. say -- schedule!  I love British accents any way!  They have so many good expressions -- oh, --- gob smacked!!!  And they use the word --- brilliant --- a lot.  And, here's another --- cuppa.

Vegetables.  I say it the way it's spelled.

Some people say *vegtables*.  That sounds funny.

Wolfgang Puck says that, but, he can't help it he's from Austria.

"Hooligans." When l was growing up, my father used to say that word. It made me laugh, and l still smile when l think of it.

"Ho-Ho-Kus." It's a borough in New Jersey. Using dashes in the spelling makes the name seem even more odd to me.

Two places come to mind, both with names that roll off the tongue.  I find myself saying them over and over.  They are both very small towns.

Balmorhea is a city in Reeves County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 479 in the U.S. Census of 2010.

Tierra Amarilla is a small unincorporated community near the Carson National Forest in the northern part of the U.S. state of New Mexico. It is the county seat of Rio Arriba County. Tierra Amarilla is Spanish for "Yellow Soil"

@jlkz thanks for sharing -- Daughter recently moved to Jersey City (flies out of Newark). On her list is to explore Jersey Shore. I'll make sure and tell her. She'll get a kick out of that.

Such a fun thread! Thanks for starting it. I thought of a few more silly sounding words I like to hear or say: bamboozle, tikity boo, and katywampus
