I embrace it all. It has made my life more fun, functional and I believe it has made me smarter. I love being able to watch my favorite shows but don't have to do it in real time but at my convenience. I have embraced texting so that every morning I can send a text to my adult children, and my friends and the rest of my family just to say good morning and am always thinking of them.I have embraced led candles and solar technology and more.
I have never looked back and said those were good old days. My days now just keep getting better and better.

I too appreciate all that technology has offered us..just in the medical world it is amazing.

Some changes are wonderful, some are not so wonderful, especially if you have teens.

It is a double-edged sword IMO. For all the good that technology has done, it is probably a big factor in childhood obesity, it has resulted in a new generation of self-absorbed kids and impersonal communication, and it has brought out the worst in some, compromising our personal security.

So do I. The tech stocks are some of the most profitable holdings in my portfolio.

Technology wise, compared to a lot of other people, I still live in a cave and I like it like that.

Technology has not made kids fat. It is the food processors who keep putting more and more sugar into processed food.
I don't see a generation of self absorbed kids, what happens today happened in the past and that was before our technology.

I agree 100%.

Kind of makes you wonder how we got along all those years before we had it. For me, the biggest advancement technologically in my career was Grade Machine. Once I got used to constantly entering data each day, I could then hit a button, and on any given day I could not only give a student his calculated grade, but I could print out every single assignment, test, or project that they had completed, skipped, or were absent during the process. Before that, I spent thousands of hours doing grades each quarter, and if a student wanted a mid quarter grade, I could only really estimate. Then I would have the student write down every assignment that was missing as I dictated it to him.
