I can't take augmentin. It contains a "kicker" ingredient as my pharmacist calls it that can cause serious liver issues.
I have a real pharmacist, one with his own shop. Not a Walgreen's hack.
dont discredit pharmacists that work in walgreens or cvs......they are certainily NOT "hacks." i have a number of friends who are pharmacists at these types of places and they got their degrees and did well in school.....and worked hard to get where they are.
Bravo! Our son's very good friend studied and worked so hard to get this difficult degree. He does a wonderful job because he is kind, compassionate and caring to the customers and to the pharmacy
staff who report to him...he's the Manager of the Pharmacy at a brick and mortar store.

I don't think you should stop taking it before speaking to your doctor since your symptoms are common with this drug.
It's one of the few antibotics that are still effective on resistant bacteria.

I was thinking just what you wrote when reading that. They went to school and had to learn the same exact stuff. A real pharmacist? Are the ones at Walgreens, fake ones or actors?

Augmenten makes a lot of people sick. Your dr. will switch you to another antibiotic that's easier on your stomach as soon as you see him/her. It's a very common side effect for that particular med.Good luck and feel better!

Most doctors offices have a doctor that is on call. I would call that number and request a call back and see what they say to do. It doesn't sound like an allergic reaction so I don't know that you should just stop it. I definitely would not cut it in half. Like others mentioned, that can be dangerous to do especially if they are extended release and have a coating on it that would release it slowly through out the day, you would be getting all of it. Call to be sure. Antibiotics do a number on me too. Even the ones I can handle have caused me dizziness at times and digestive issues ALL of the time. Feel better!
BTW, dizziness is listed as a side effect.

This medicine may not be as effective or could be harmful if you do not use the exact tablet form your doctor has prescribed.
Take the medicine at the same time each day.
The Augmentin tablet should be swallowed whole.

ITA .... see above ..... Call BOTH of them.

(thread title)
You know you need to check with your doctor, and the reason you are not doing so is?
Even if someone here has a suggestion, you would be foolish to even consider it. I do not care if this person has been a nurse for 50 years, they are in no position to know your medical history.
The holiday is over, wasn't someone in your doctor's office today, like maybe a nurse, a PA or a NP?
