Because I could not get on boards for almost a week I wanted to post that we had the quietest 4th ever.  That is due to the fact that we had such excessive record breaking heat in the pacific nw that the sales of fireworks were banned in our city. So glad because I hate fireworks.  There was a $2500.00 fine if people lit them.  (Other cities around us still sold them so people would just go there and buy them).  I heard them for only about 15 minutes and they were "quiet" fireworks, not the huge bomb sounding ones.

Wow, so glad you didn't have to suffer in that barrage.  It was awful by us.  I could not post either for a few days and I wanted to.

We had it for a few hours.  The police could do nothing.  I gotta say....that's the first time I ever saw the police at a loss.  The only other time is well, when you go to a concert which I haven't for years but it was really frightening.

Our kitty was terrified.  So glad when it was over!

I spent a few nights holding my scared dog because it was so loud around here. Imagine what it does to veterans and those with PTSD.

There are still fireworks going off every night here where I live. My sweet golden runs and hides. It will be like this for weeks, I hate to say.

What really surprises me is that our one year old miniature schnauzer is not afraid of the fireworks. There were loud fireworks going off for Several nights.  She barked a few times when they first started but that was all. I even took her outside on her lease to do her business with no problem. She's a sweet dog with a great disposition. We love her  : )

Our's was very noisy.  They started with firecrackers (during the day) under the bridge nearby on the 3rd, the 4th & the 5th. On the 4th it went on and on after midnight.  I think someone called the police, because it stopped very quickly. We have the intense heat back.  Yesterday it was 100F and probably warmer today.  I never stepped foot outside (one thing good about working from home)  Think the rest of the summer will by like this.

Glad yours was quiet.  Ours went on for a couple of weeks and really noisy on the 4th. Was allmost grateful for the storm threat last night as everyone was in behaving.  Hopint this is the end of it till ummm New Years.  Thats when again there will be tons of fireworks,  Maybe halloween as well.
