Thank you kindly for your concern... I'm really well
. It's been five years already and I have a residual balance problem but it's not too serious. I don't have to use a cane (yet). I sometimes need a little prompting remembering something (okay, that might be age related!
) I have an unconscious real fear of stairs that is weird. I think I'm going to fall again or something. I fell the entire length of the stair case when I walked out of my mules (one foot) and landed totally on my left cheekbone on the wood banister at the bottom. Luckily my husband was home and heard it. He said I wasn't breathing when he came out but moved me and I gasped for breath. I have only vague memories, only what he's told me..... and the doctor's told me. I have such gratitude just being here......
I hope your injury will eventually go away .... God Bless you as well!
@Q4u...sounds like you are doing well considering what you have been through. IMO, you have every right to fear stairs. Sounds like you are indeed very lucky to be alive.

Oh my gosh, Q4U, how scary that must have been. I am very glad you are doing well now.
I am almost 67 and really know I should feel old but I really don't. I mailed my oldest great grandson a birthday card last night so that alone (there are 4 of the great grands) should qualify!
Cute thread, I remember every single thing mentioned.

Catwhisper, I just read back a bit and see that you also suffered from a fall. I do hope you are getting better each day as well.
And you, too Constance. Gosh, how scary all these falls. I do find myself holding on more tightly to bannisters, etc. when going down steep stairs - paying more attention instead of just running on down. Oh no, I guess I am getting old. But, that beats the alternative,

Comfortable shoes can be cute and stylish.

1. The day I told a story at work and referred to the album Frampton Comes Alive and got blank stares.
2. I crouched down to get something off the bottom shelf at the grocery store and groaned really loud when I stood up.

@minkbunny....thank you. I fell off a step ladder in the kitchen seven months ago. Broke my wrist and my arm was all bent out of shape. I went to PT for a few months, but had to stop because I can't afford it. My insurance only covers a small portion. My arm has pretty much straightened out, but my hand and wrist are still pretty messed up. I can't do a lot of the things I used to, but I deal with it. I was unable to drive for five months, so am thankful i can drive again! Thanks for asking.

Oh shoot! You're right! I'm so old I remember when "chutes" was spelled "shoots!" LOL! (I made the correction.)

For years I've been used to people asking me if I have children. Having never had children, I've always felt very young, like that possibility would still be "in the future." In my mind I was not old enough to have children yet.
Then one day complete strangers started asking me if I had grandchildren.
OUCH!
