SCAM ALERT !!!!! It's important to be skepitcal and "on your toes" at all times. Too many people are getting duped.

You are correct, Erin was at a franchise hotel, not a part of the Marriot Corp.

We got a weird call yesterday too but my nomorobo picked it up and disconnected it after 1 ring.

The call popped up on our TV and it was an 800 number and said "Nashville." We have been to Nashville the last 2 years and have been looking to book again. I wonder if this was the same sort of hotel scam?

I wouldn't feel anymore unsafe staying in a Marriott than I would staying at any hotel.

And when you get there part of THE PLAN is for you to sit through presentations for Time Shares. My friend did this. We even stayed at a place where we walked through one of these presentations. We were not involved.

My mother had a time share, someone talked her into it and she was 80 years old. After she died all was lost. Horrible story that has soured me to all time shares.

My young daughter has one, three children and they make great use out of it.
