Re: I just let a telemarketer have it!! (Venting post)

WE get computer calls from our son. The most recent call was from Bahrain. It kind of broke apart, but it's free or very little money

@SeaMaiden  I ordered that phone also and received it a few days ago.  Just hooked it up this afternoon and I love it.  I like the fact it speaks to you and tells you who it is.  Was a good price for their TS.  Well worth the money spent.  You'll like it a lot I'm sure.

@BlingQueen022  ThankYou!  I just got it an hour ago UPS.  Will set it up tomorrow.

Can I ask you a question?  Can you block the number after they call?  Or do they have to be on the line when you block them?

We get the mail out of our mailbox everyday. Today, my mailbox was full. I counted and there were 18 of those campaign flyers. I think it's ridiculous! I'd love to have the money they spend on these advertisements.

Re: I just let a telemarketer have it!! (Venting post)

My life is easy these days....why?  Well because I bought the amazing phone I've told everyone here about....it has a special button on the phone that says, "CALL BLOCK".  Just push the button and it asks do you want to block this caller?  and I push YES!  Next time I get a call with that number it rings once and disconnects...

This phone holds 250 blocked calls.  If you want to unblock the calls you just push unblock under whatever number you want.  Plain and simple.  You might want to look into it.

There are a lot of people here.  I believe I was one of the first to tell people about it a few months ago.  It has 4 handsets and you even get the batteries with it.  Look into it, it's wonderful!

If I don't recognize the caller ID, I won't answer.  Period.  If it's that important, they can leave a message.

I'm cooking dinner and the phone rings, and I answer it and this guy says, "hello, may I speak to Evonne?" I said "excuse me." He said, "this is so and so with some campaign and I was wanting to talk to Evonne _____."  I said You know, she is my M-I-L and she is in a nursing home with advanced Alzheimer's. You people are relentless and have no sense!"

I said a few choice words also as you can imagine. These calls are driving me crazy!! I am on the DNC list but they continue. This is not a political thread, but about telemarketers in general. Maybe I shouldn't have been so nasty, but it hit me the wrong way. I'm just venting.

Telemarketers (what a horrible job) and robocalls are a nuisance but I'm not going to give myself a stroke or a heart attack over them. If I mistakenly answer the phone and they start talking I just  interupt them and say "not interested" or just hang up. They are reading from a script, it is not personal. If we're eating or whatever we just let it go to voice mail. A friend or relative will leave a message or call back. It is ugly to "let a telemarketer have it" or cuss them.

@SeaMaiden  We just hooked up this phone today.  I went to the instruction book and on page 20 and page 21 of the instruction manual it tells you how you can block calls.  It says you can block calls when it's received and you can block calls after the call is received and you can also block calls if they leave a message on the answering machine.  I have to say I have my phone through Comcast along with my internet and I use the answering machine from comcast.  I'll have to play with this tomorrow and try to set up a test call to see if the block will work.  Like I said, we just hooked it up this afternoon.  When you get your phone look at page 20 and 21 and it will explain exactly how to block.  It looks pretty easy from the manual especially when they're on the line.  I do have to say we don't get calls from telemarketers at all.  We are on the no call list but not sure if Comast has anything to do with receiving calls we need to block.

I hate these calls too, but I would sure hate to be the one making them . It's a no win situation.

@mistriTsquirrel I like it fine, no monthly charge.

I don't know how you get it because my husband fixed it for us, just google it and I'm sure you can find out.

Re: I just let a telemarketer have it!! (Venting post)

its the home security firms that keep calling even tho i have requested many times to be taken off their list.  once on the third phone call in a 24 hr period i asked the man on the phone. do you reaaly think I'd purchase anything from a company that irritates me so much? they only called back twice the next day. We have big  guns and big dogs here in the Ozarks those are my security systems.
