The truth of the matter is most people really don't know what is happening in their own backyard. We're not in Kansas anymore...if there ever really was a Kansas, metaphorically speaking.

I would reserve judgement until you know all the facts..Some people have been accused of terrible things, and then proven innocent

You just never know what's going on behind closed doors.
I'm sure it was shocking...

You just never know what’s going on in someone’s home.

A guy my husband grew up with has a boy that is also my
daughters age. He would always be a chaperone on the
school fields trips when they were younger.
One day the newspaper came and he was on the front page.
Accused of assaulting his son and the boys friends during
sleepovers going back at least 10 years.
We were shocked. He had even come to our daughters
birthday party once at McDonalds. He was eventually
arrested and convicted.
Since then you have to provide clearances at the school
showing you have no arrests, incidents in your past. Boy
what a shock when you think you know someone.

You never know when the past comes back to bite you in the tush.

The associate minister at a church I attended was charged with sexual assault of a minor in the youth group. It rocked the entire membership. Soooo many ripple effects not to mention the impact it had on generations of family ministers.

@Free2be wrote:If he has a shred of decency left, if guilty, he'll admit it and save his family more grief. More often they claim innocence to save themselves at the cost of everyone else involved. Too often family and friends have a need to believe the lie. The family needs a lot of love and support to come to grips with whatever the truth is. Arrests don't happen from nothing.
I was thinking about that last night. I can see him admitting it and not going through with the trial if he's guilty. I can't see him putting his family through the trial.

We see what people want us to see. When it comes to neighbors and acquaintences we often don't the real people and we don't know what happens in other people's homes. On the other hand, arrested does not mean he's guilty of anything.

One of our customers was recently sentenced to prison for child pornography/molestation charges. Wealthy, connected and this was his secret life. People were making excuses for the behavior. You just never know what goes on behind closed doors.
