I am a type 2 diabetic, diet controlled but when I go to the doctor, I come home, wash my clothes and take a shower right away. I also wipe down my cell phone, keys, cards with a disinfectant wipe. I have a Bob Mackie cloth coat and it goes in the wash as well.

@Goodie2shoes  We're not permitted to have washers/dryers in our apartments. We have a huge modern laundry room with about 20 washers and 20 dryers.  Instead of doing laundry once a week, I've been doing it once every 2-3 weeks again, to reduce the chance of coming into contact with people.  I also do it at 5 a.m.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

Re: I have to laugh at myself sometimes

I've been watching re-runs of 'Monk' for quite some time.  (Ran across this series by chance.)

Anyway, I've been somewhat germ- conscience for many years.  (Not as thorough as Monk, though.)

I'd be thrilled if folks with colds and various flu symptoms would wear masks during regular flu seasons.

I'm hoping that people will continue to be careful, and courteous even though they have been vaccinated.

The best of health and safety to all.

Are you a germophobic?  Sounds like it.

Imtep:

I could be.

I've known a few that are even more particular than me, though.

I think of myself as 'somewhat' fussy re: avoiding colds and flu during flu seasons.

When I see someone in a supermarket coughing and coughing and looking somewhat ill, I usually walk the other way.

It's just that when I do get a cold every five to seven years apart, it's not only somewhat severe, it lasts for weeks and weeks on end, it seems.

It won't hurt to be over-cautious.  Under-cautious  -- that could be a problem.  DH & I do things differently.

I've been double masking for a few months. I don't wear gloves but I've always used hand sanitizer as soon as I get in car. Always wiped down cart before using it.

DH uses gloves, doesn't double mask or use hand sanitizer

I used to wipe down groceries before putting away but no more. I usually do curb side pickup for groceries, rarely shop myself.

Re: I have to laugh at myself sometimes

Except for always wearing a mask when i go out and not socializing, I don't  do anything differently because of COVID.

In order to get it, you must come in contact with someone  who is coughing or sneezing or generating a lots of spittle into the air.

I have always washed my hands after going out shopping and carry hand wipes in my car.  I don't touch my face or eat in my car with " dirty" hands. This method has protected me from getting colds and the flu too.  I never get vaccinations and never get sick.

When I took my dogs out in the yard today, my adjoining neighbor told me he had COVID in early February.  He said he coughed so hard and his chest burned.  He agreed it was awful.  I asked if his wife got it, and he said no, only him.  He quarantined at home.

People need to be careful with all of that sanitizing stuff.  It is not good for your lungs and not good for your skin either.  They are poisons.  Good old soap and water is more effective than hand sanitizer and should  be used whenever possible.

I would never wipe down groceries with sanitizer, I certainly don't want to Injest that poison.

As my mother used to say, " sometimes the cure is worse than the disease/virus."

I don't do ANY of this stuff.  I wear a mask only when I HAVE to, in order to enter a store.

I'm way way under the top, you're way way over but we both can laugh at ourselves so it's all good. Be well @Goodie2shoes.

It is all a personal choice based on your health, lifestyle and family situation.

We also wiped food down, let non perishables sit for 3 days, mail the same and packages also.

Too Much? who can say...THEY have changed the guidlines so much in the last year, and now with the different strains...who really knows.

Be cautious, and logical within you own situation.

Above all TRUST YOURSELF...
