Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

We've been discussing current events for more than a week.  Long threads that don't get taken down.

Bette is correct, it's all about doing it in a civil way.  If someone tries to start something, and that's happened, IGNORE THEM.

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

I actually replied to one yesterday for the heck of it. It seemed the poster was new and had just one post. I thought, let me see if this person answers or is in fact a troll. There were no more posts after mine. That's how interested she/he was in the answer. The OP was from 2014. 😳

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

The date of the original post is not posted on the forum page.  It only shows when I click on the actual subject.

For instance, to get here I clicked on community chat.  Then found this topic.  The date of the original post is not listed.  If I clicked on the far right on the date and time of latest post, it takes me to the current post.  In order to see the date and time of the original post, I would have to get back to the original post.  Or, instead of clicking on last post, click on the thread title to see the date of when the thread started.

Unless I am missing something, this is not set up right.  The date and time of the original post should be listed by the thread title on the forum listings.

There is no reason for so many things here to take extra steps.

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

I was just thinking more about my comments on the earlier post, specifically my last sentence.

I was pondering why we have to use more steps to get to where we want.

Hmmmm. Maybe that is the point. I am not very knowledgeable on tech stuff, or especially websites. But, I know there is website traffic and google searches, etc. There is such a thing as bounce back rates. and other ways that website traffic is measured.

Maybe they want us to have to click around here much more than we used to.

It's a form of rebellion/trolling to deliberately dig up old threads just for the purpose of digging them up. There certainly are people who deliberately try to annoy both QVC and forum members. There will always be people who spend their time doing that.

Trollers are finding out that what cannot be posted is getting them routinely deleted, or exposed as bullies and trollers. They're having to dig deep to come up with new ways to disrupt the forums they're determined to bring down.

Major overreaction to something SO TRIVIAL.

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

There was an old WEN post from 2011 recently resurrected. Seriously, 4 year old thread where the OP had only one post, never to return to the thread and somehow it ended up on the first page of the forums.

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

The Q is trying to deal with the troll/s who spammed the boards with 100s of old posts overnight. More power to them.

Re: I have noticed many resurrected old threads

I was never part of the righteous hysteria over the spam in the old forums, so I'm hardly likely to care deeply about it now. But I call it as I see it, as far as what may be behind this little outburst of it. JMO.
