She's a rescue. About 8-9 years old. Family dumped her when they got new kittens.{#emotions_dlg.angry} She is a dilute tortiseshell, absolutely beautiful. Somewhat shy and a total love bug, lap cat. We are madly in love with each other. I think I am naming her Snickers, short for Snickerdoodle.

My baby's ashes are ready today. They are supposed to bring them to me this week.{#emotions_dlg.crying}

Hi bikerbabe,

I am so happy to hear you have a new family member and that she is a rescue. She sounds like just the thing at the right time for you. Our best to both you and Snickers.

We always went to pick up the ashes of our furry loved ones and there is only one drive that is worse than those kind of drives. Not a pleasant thing to do and I am happy to hear you are having them brought to you. To me that sounds much better than those long drives we have taken that are not really long.

One of the Boxers my wife fostered was named Snickers and she was such a sweet dog. She was adopted by a family 2 states away from us. This even knowing she had a tumor in one of her rear legs and might have to have it amputated if it turned out to be malignant. It did and she ended up losing her leg, but the family says she is doing fine and learning to run and do things very well. What a great family to take her in and give her a great home.

Last thing we need is another lap cat. You outta see when I have 5 of them on me and 1 more trying to squeeze in. This is more true when the weather is cold.

Oh, this is a bittersweet juxtaposition of events.

(((bikerbabe))) I do think your dear Gabby sent wee little Snickers to your loving heart and cuddling arms.

May you have many, many years together.{#emotions_dlg.wub}

I am so glad that your new kitty has found her forever home. Unfortunately, I've heard this happen before from others. They talk about how cute and fun and funny they are when they're kittens but when they grow up they're not fun anymore Smiley Sad everyone adopts the kittens and not the grown kitties. One of my neighbors wanted to do that when her cat grew up. Her kids complained that the cat was boring and they wanted a kitten.I kept it until I found a great home and he is very happy in his new home. I'm glad you're giving an older cat a chance.
