Oh Good grief! I paid our Directv bill to the tune of $1000.11
and have a $791.13 credit. Wish me luck! DH wants the money back in our bank account. I thought they could just deduct from the credit till it was used up. Those zeros add up (g)

How did you get credit from Directv @monicakm ?
Just recently I cancelled my satellite service with them and they gave me a debit card to pay me a refund for service I didn't use.

Oh My @monicakm so sorry to hear this as that is quite a credit balance to leave hanging. My brother overpaid a major cell phone carrier with an extra digit and they refused to refund. Needless to say, end of contract he changed carriers.
Hope you can get a refund, if that is what you want. Take care.

I have never over paid a bill. I have paid the amount of my gas bill to the electric company & paid the amount owed to the electric company to the gas company. LOL!!!
That only happened one time. I called to tell them what happened so they didn't charge me late charge. I told them it wasn't really late it was just the wrong amount. ![]()

This is wrong. Getting money back from any kind of utility company is NOT easy. By any chance do you have a relative who's an attorney?

That is the reason why.......
I will not give up paying bills by check which I proof read & make sure the amount in the statement booklet matchess the amount on the check BEFORE I seal it up in an envelope.
Get "paper" bills & bank statements by snail mail so I can review them like a fine tooth comb.

I'm not forseeing a problem but who knows. No, I don't have a family member that is an attorney. If anything, it will be a Directv credit for the next 9 months. Yes, I KNOW it's wrong ![]()

First time this has happened and I've been paying bills online ever since my bank started offering it. I stay up with the times (g) There are checks and balances in place. I overpaid. I'll either get a credit or (hopefully) a check in the mail. It's on Directv's statement that I have a $791.13 credit. I looked at my online bill pay and sure enough, I paid them $1000. I'll let everyone know the outcome.

I bet they will give you a debit card. Same as cash. I don't believe they deal with cutting checks. @monicakm
If they give you credit for the upcoming months of (prepaid) service and then you decide to cancel service...what then?
