Re: I hate this time of year

In highschool my boyfriends family relied on hunting to have enough food to feed their family. My husband and my moms husband are both hunters and fisherman and provide food for their families. Anything they can't use is given to others.

I know what you mean OP.  On my news feed I've seen photos of people in Africa standing proudly next to their "kill."  Giraffes, Lions, etc.  very sad. Woman Sad

Culling is one thing, hunting as necessity is one thing, the trophy pictures are gross.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

Friends and family on Facebook are posting pictures of dead animals they have killed.  It really bothers me that they seem pleased that they are stopping the hearts of precious creatures.  I'd almost go as far to see it should be illegal to post pictures like that.  Smiley Sad

I didn't even have Facebook for a long time but my sister convinced me to register.  I didn't realize I'd be seeing things like that.  Smiley Sad

The killing of these kinds of animals is not the same as culling overpopulated deer herds, or providing food for their families.

And I agree, even living in a culture where hunting is second nature, I don't care to see pictures posted of people with their kill.

Excuse me but my post was on topic -- people who post their photos next to animals they've killed.  I did not address those who kill for food or those who cull out deer.

Are animal farms part of culling the herd, you know, grow them to kill them?  I dont think so!!!!!  Let NATURE take its course.   We didnt need to take Nature.---------tedEbear

Above paragraph is this writers personal opinion.   If there is a sincere need to hunt and fish OK, DONT POST IT.  I will be forced to to take pictures of my food I have hunted.

Re: I hate this time of year

I have a couple of FB friends who are avid hunters.  Every year at this time, I go to their FB Timeline and unfollow them.  That way, I don't have to see their disgusting pictures of the animals they have killed.  It makes me sick.
