It  seemed to be placed  in the future. In the dream two people are selected for  death ramdomly - maybe  like for population control or such? A society law ....chosen ones for euthanasia.  A fellow in a uniform came to my home and told me I was one of the  chosen for that day... it would happen at 6PM that night.

 In the dream I knew I could not escape, or run away. I was trying to write notes and letters to people to tell them what was going to happen..... I felt a lot of fear in the dream.... It was like the government knew where you were at all times.

Right before 6PM a silver metallic  van type of vehicle drove up outside. It's engine made a whirring soft sound. I remember the sound of it.... Two people dressed in beige uniforms( a man and woman) came to the door. I remember I was crying and begging to them that I did not want to die. But it was obvious that that is what was going to happen. The two people were very calm, polite and business like.

At 6PM the gentleman pulled out a pen type of cylinder long silver   object that he placed against  my thigh.  I felt how I felt when being put under sedation for surgery.. sleepy and then I was unconsious... out.  I felt I  died in the dream, yet, I could still see others in the room and hear them, but , they could not see me. Like a ghost.   In the dream my father and mother were also somehow involved. ( both of them have passed on). 

I do not know why I dreamed this, or what if any meaning it might have, It was so real, it almost was like watching a movie. Very strange indeed!  It was almost like a movie script.

Wow, that was a detailed dream. Who knows what it meant? I wouldn't give it too much focus unless it becomes a recurring dream. My story:

At 26, I dreamed that a man chased me from a distance and shot my left leg with a shotgun. Had this dream several times, he was closer in each dream. One night, he stood next to me and shot me in the same place, lower outside left leg. In the dream, I died and my spirit left my body. I remember thinking in spirit, "Thank goodness, he can't hurt me anymore."

Next day day went to work and as I was sitting there typing away, I saw a white light and heard the words, "Check your legs and call your doctor." Very strange. But I did and found a dark spot on a mole on my left leg, a mole I had my whole life. Long story short, went to a derm the next day, had a biopsy, it was melanoma. BUT, here is where it gets really interesting, the doc who read the biopsy was one of the leading melanoma specialists in the country and he said all I would need was re-excision of the area, no skin grafting, because in his opinion, I had the biopsy within 24 hours of the mole becoming malignant. I was one of the lucky ones who caught it early, and thank my angels for alerting me through my dreams.

if your dream returns again and again, pay attention to what is being told to you through this symbolic medium.

Wow June - that was a very powerful dream.  Dreams can be symbolic of other things going on in our lives.  The first thing I would look at is your feelings during the dream, not necessarily the scenario.  Are you feeling fear about anything going on in your life right now?  The other emotion that came up was lack of control, you couldn’t escape this event.  Does this sound like anything currently happening in your life?  Perhaps some transition or change?  I’m just throwing out some ideas.

I am going to have to think on this.... my Father did die recently and I did not have a good relationship with him for many years... I am sure I do carry guilt about this. I did have  a major surgery three weeks ago as well. I am off all the pain meds now,  so I cannot blame the  medication for the dream.

Wow, that was some dream! Just curious.....did u take Melatonin before you went to sleep? I've read that Melatonin can give you very vivid dreams and nightmares. I take it every night and I really get some pretty wild dreams.

I don't make too much out of dreams(or what some see as nightmares). I have had probably millions of dreams, none of which had anything to do with what "had occured in my life prior, or anything in the future".

Some might have different experiences, but I have never been one to spend my time trying to decipher if dreams had any relevent meaning in my life.

@milliegrace I do take melatonin every night....have for years. Never noticed weird dreams from it.

@hckynutjohn  I never really believed that dreams meant anything either...this dream was just so strong and different and so real. Very odd.

I used to have this dream over and over years ago.

I was in an elevator and it would start to descend very fast as if the cable broke,

I would always wake up before it hit the bottom.

It would frighten me and after one night of having this same dream I woke up crying.

One night I had the same dream, but this time the elevator stopped and started going up at a normal speed, after that dream I never had the dream again!

For me I can not watch scary movies or the promos, or I will have a nightmare.

I wonder if you read or heard a story or watched a movie with the things you felt in your dream?

JUNE-    Maybe there was a commercial for a show or movie that you thought you weren't listening to , but your sub-conscious was.

               My 1 repetitive dream was when I was a young child 5,6,7,8,and 9 yrs old..

 I fell overboard out in the ocean and sank down,down,down,down to the very deep and was rescued by merpeople and turned into a mermaid.  I have always loved Syncronized swimming aand water ballet.  BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SWIM.   I never learned how.  I like swimming pools, I can hang on the edge.

                SCARY BOOKS and MOVIES always let me sleep.  Dreams are not remembered,just know I had one.   SLEEP TIGHT, DONT LET THE BUGS BITE.
