@SeaMaiden   Since you got one by debit card tell me do you

1. activate the card

2. then can you go to your own bank and get all the money at 1 time

3.   do you have to use a ATM machine and only allowed to take out so much at a time.

I read on the IRS page the FAQ questions we don't know any more then we did. totally confusing.

HELP !

@SharkE yes, activate the card first....then,   we went to BOA( our bank) and We were able to use the ATM at the bank to cash it out in full. No charge.  You may have to ask your bank of THEY charge a fee to cash it out.

if you use a ATM associated with the card, there is no fee to extract money. They list the ATMS near you that are no fee ATM's

@SharkE   Mine showed (and still does) the last 4 digits of my Acct #...not the Routing #...hmmm

@89135

Some people talk about routing number. When I checked for mine a few weeks ago, only the last 4 digits of my bank acc showed up.

I just checked for a friend of mine and her's will be deposited on Wednesday the 7th and only the last 4 digits of her bank account showed up.

I am not SeaMaiden but my accountant told me to take the debit card to the bank and deposit it into my bank account or I will be charged a fee everytime I use it (it is still sitting in a drawer!).  I did activate it.

@DiAnne  I also heard that you can deposit it without going to the Bank. Don't know how true it is. I know you can do that with a check by taking a picture. Check the info that came with the card and see if it's possible. Maybe someone here who did it could be able to tell you.

Yeah, couple of drug stores and a gas station they list.

Hopefully, I can activate either by phone or online then go to the bank we use and wrap it up all in one fell swoop. Hope, it doesn't come as a debit card, but, I will keep you up to date ! LOL   Thanks  @SeaMaiden

I got mine also this week, in check form ,  1st time it was direct deposit , i really had forgot about it , and thought i wasn't getting one for some reason , i am grateful , but wouldn't it be cheaper for government to direct deposit for people that have bank accounts.

I have a friend who is separated from her husband. They have a joint account and she was hoping that her check would not be direct deposited. Well, she got a check. Called me and asked me to check and see where she can cash the check. Kroger does it for free. She went to Kroger and got her money.

Just hope my bank does that with a stupid debit card.

I'll find out tomorrow gonna walk in and ask since I have to cash a tiny check anyway

Get my payment says I got a direct deposit coming, but, the problem with that is it's the wrong bank #

Then, another thing in the INformed Delivery says I got a Debit Card coming I don't know what in the *ell I got coming.

Poor husband has a direct deposit, coming and the right account # but no date they haven't made up their mind yet on the date.

Lord ! Lord !

@SharkE  it should be on the 7th if it said direct deposit for your DH.

I don't understand how Informed Delivery was able to say that. Usually it's the same day. I've had Informed delivery for years and they are never wrong.

If  you get a Debit Card, take it to the Bank and deposit the funds.

If it's direct deposit, it gives you only the last four numbers of your Bank Account.

I had to check "Get my Payment" for four people who don't have any way of checking it and I only saw the last four numbers of their Bank Acc which would be deposited on Wednesday the 7th.

Yours is a mystery. It will be solved.

Your right I'm the exception.

Mine will be deposited , but, that's not my bank account # LOL

His has the right bank account # but "date to be determined" hopefully it will be the 7th.

Informed delivery picture sent was on Tues March 30th said to be on the look out. I'm still looking. Nobody can beat us out there to the mailbox, we know roughly when mailman is coming and we're out the door as soon as he goes to next mailbox.

Only notice I don't have is nothing about it coming by check. Yes, we're on SS and yes we turned in our 2020 taxes and paid in.
