@ECBG - Do you mind me asking which Samsung fridge you got?  My Kitchenaid is now 20 years old, still going strong.  But we've replaced everything else in black and the fridge is bisque.

I keep thinking about replacing it, but can't decide what to go with.  I've heard so many conflicting reviews and opinions.

It goes against the grain to replace something that isn't broken, but I know I'm going to have to, probably sooner rather than later.

I had a Samsung Microwave placed over the stove when I had my house built and it's been 5 years and no issues. I hope your lasts too.

@qvcfreak    I have an over-the-range Whirlpool that's 12 years old.  My microwaves always last a long time and usually they've been Whirlpools.

I have one this old too!  Works fine.  I love knobs instead of buttons.  I have done some research for when it breaks.  I had one catch fire at my friends house.  I was right there and put the fire out.  It was taken out and now I have an old one from my Dad, with knobs!  It is fine but doesn't turn off.  I unplugged it so I won't use it.    SO...I do have to replace that one.  I never leave the kitchen anymore when using a microwave.

Glad I read this so I will remember to buy one.

You gals are so studious.  I just buy one that fits my space.  Then I buy another one when the old one reaches that just before it blows up stage.

@Mindy D I had an 1100 watt Sunbeam that lasted for many years. When it finally stopped heating correctly last year. I bought theexact same one because I had such good luck with the first

I also like how the controls work (easy peasy). It only came in black. I've had this one for a year now and am still loving it.  The turntable works well too; never comes off its track.Bought both mine at Target.

Good luck with yours.

@Mindy D  Well that certainly  didn't happen to mine and I used it s heck of a lot more than that person did. I liked my first one and like my second one.  As I wrote in my post. A photo someone posted under who-knows-what circumstances doesn't change my mind at all.

@Pearlee @I was seeing this kind of thing for so many brands. It's such a shame how good companies and once great products are just not as great anymore. I'm not trying to diminish the good fortune you've had with yours and I am grateful for your help. I just meant this to illustrate how much things have changed. I wasn't trying to change your mind about your satisfaction with the microwaves you have had. I was just illustrating how much things differ now.

@Mindy D. You are seeing it for so many brands  because in addition to things not being made as well as they used to be which I agree with: (1) There are always a few in every brand that are defective, and (2) people can be idiots so some of those photos result from user errors.
