We have a 5 ft long Rubbermaid box in the garage.
We live in the country. This time of year I put mouse bait between it and the brick wall. That's what it takes to keep a mouse out of my house. The dogs can't get to it.

"RAVENS!" ? holy smokes!
Before my most recent "house" living experience, (before moving here presently), I thought "critters" & bugs knew to remain "Outdoors," and I'm to remain "Indoors!" And never the twain shall meet!
I thought those were the "rules of nature!" Apparently nobody shared that with the critters! Either that, or the critters ignored it. Cause I had my fill of various, assorted "critters."

BTW, apparently Rats "transport things" en masse!
I had NO FOOD in the garage. None, what so ever! No human food! - No animal food!
I slid aside something heavy in the garage, (I called "Spiderville") and was SHOCKED! MASSIVE amount of bird seed shells were there, in one wide, collective spot! And I mean A LOT!
They didnt get that bird seed from my home! They must have taken it from someone else & moved it over to my garage! and ate it there. I didnt know that rats transport massive amounts of seeds, for eating, esp as far as from neighbor's places?
I wondered if rats/mice have those pockets in their cheeks like Hamsters do, for tucking in & transporting food, Otherwise, how do they move that amount of seeds to inside my garage?
Without an Exterminator, they would have won, & fully moved in, overwhelmingly!
As it was, they caused VERY expensive problems, wide ranging! (Including wiring in the car)!
Good luck!

I cant stand the idea that the birds are not being fed, esp thru winter months, at least.

@JoyFilled Warrior I know what you mean. We have two large bird feeders that we maintain. This morning my husband noticed they were getting low on seeds but since we were heading out for an appointment he said he would fill them when we got home.
Although it's not particularly cold at this time in our area the birds still come to our feeders. He told me as soon as he filled the feeders, before he could even put away the containers that hold the seed, he saw almost ten birds instantly come to the feeders.
I cannot bear to think that either our birds or our squirrels are hungry. I even make sure that I give our squirrels a light snack of a few almonds or hazelnuts before they retire to their dreys for the night.

The only thing about that BIRD FEEDER I posted pics & Info - ABOVE -
The little plastic doohicky thing that the birds beaks poke thru to get the seeds, can come loose often. It needs some way to keep it affixed to the round mount that keeps it attached.

I think I remember using a spot of glue? or tape? cant remember, what i used, but it worked!. The birds just poked the heck outta it, AND BIRDS LOVED IT!
I even saw Woodpeckers, close up, for the first time in my life! They enjoyed it!
But I suggest, DO IT (affixing) AS SOON AS YOU GET IT. Cause if that little round part falls inside the seed containing cylinder, it's awkward getting inside the cylinder to pluck it back out & "glue" it on, where it belongs.
This sounds worse than it really is. Please know.
This particular Bird Feeder works!!
esp if you post it correctly on a pole, per their suggestions, (and keep giving a quick whisking, on the ground under).
My ugly rodent problem didnt touch this feeder or it's periphery, what so ever! at all!! even when I had that seemingly abundant ugly rat problem!
BTW, QVC offered this particular Bird Feeder, First! And I bought it at QVC
Subsequent same Bird Feeders, I bought from Amz, since they were less expensive, always available, & delivered much faster.
Enjoy your birds! (without those nasty rodents!) ![]()

One kitten? Is that common for a cat to only have one kitten? I know it's not the norm but wondering if it's something that isn't uncommon.
