I didn't know this- sales tax

I just placed my first order with Zappos. Delivery is fast as long as you have an account with them or open one. Order as a "guest" whatever that would mean, and it's probably about the same as with QVC.

But here's the sales tax thing. For all the posts here on the board about the great deals elsewhere as far as sales tax, I was surprised to find that I AM going to pay sales tax. I spoke with CS and they are required to collect NYS tax! I don't remember ever seeing that mentioned.
