Day 2...the phone is working! I did have to take a sewing needle and get out some dried rice bits from the charging port. The rice did its job.
I'm relieved I won't have to buy a new phone at this time. Unlike some people, mine usually last me 3-4 years, so this one has at least another year of life.
Thanks to all for your tips and laughs!

September .... glad to hear you prevailed in saving your cell phone~!
I purchased a Samsung only because it is "waterproof," so my phone is bathroom friendly ;-)

I always wear my phone in a flat fanny pack with a zippered top. No chance of it falling out.

@chrystaltree wrote:Oh, my goodness. I would never put my cell phone in my pocket, I wouldn't want it to slip out plus it's too big for a pocket anyway. I have a Galaxy 7 Edge and it's waterproof for 30 minutes. I love that feature. I haven't had to use it yet but it's nice to know that if it should fall into water, nothing bad will happen.
I wish I had that luxury! I have a handicapped adult in the immediate family and must be reachable at all times. That means the phone must be on my person so I can feel it vibrate if I'm in a situation where the sound is turned off. That's also why I have a smaller sized phone, so it will fit in a pocket. Unfortunately, that doesn't always work out so well, lol!
I just carry my phone with me wherever I go. It's just not that for hard for me, it's just my habit now and if I have 2 cross body bags, if I need both my hands. I know myself. I know if I put my phone in my pocket, regardless of how deep or big the pocket...it's going to slip out. I never thought of it until this thread came up but my phone is with me 24/7....and it's not even a necessity. It's just a habit now.

My cell phone is never anywhere but in my hand, and I am using it, or planning to use it. I don't do my talking on my cordless, or cell phone, when visiting the bathroom, or restroom, when calling from the hospital.
Simple thing to avoid for me because my cell phone is not part of my clothing or anatomy 99.9% of the time. When it is near me, I am nowhere near a toilet or urinal.
Oyeee! This cell phones!
