On op first post they never said they had a full-time job. Is that what they were seeking for a supervisor position? If you go to a top-tier university, I would recommend getting a degree that pays out.

LOL, that's true!  I was an anthro major until I found out it not only didn't pay much, it was a field with a glass ceiling for women, in spite of Margaret Mead and those who came after her.

So I turned it in for a minor and took something else as a major.

@NYC Susan In the scheme of things, it doesn't really matter.

l would be careful.  He may have been chosen for he was better qualified.  You may not know his whole history.  Years at your current employer  does not necessarily qualify you  as the better position for the job. You will need more evidence if you want to sue or  go to HR.

Are the supervisors where you work hands on or do they just delegate?  If they just delegate then maybe the decision was based on the fact that you are too valuable in your own classification.  Changing it might change the whole dynamic of the team to one of less productivity.

@luv-the-Q  In the scheme of things, it matters a great deal, and apathy is dangerous.   If truth is not worth defending, what is left?

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

I think she also went by more than a few names.
