I'm a recent newbie to Netflix and I am really enjoying it.
I recently watched the entire series of Mad Men. I got turned on to the show a few weeks back when they had the marathon before the series finale. I had allot of questions so checked it out. What a great show! Never seen so much smoking and drinking! Ha!
I have OITNB on my list to watch, along with Longmire (friend told me about), Sons of Anarchy, and Breaking Bad. Good thing it's to hot to be outside and I can watch when I can.
As for movies, I thought "You're not you" was really good! Cried my eyes out! Also, loved "Nebraska."
Another friend sad "The best of Me" is also really good but haven't watched it yet. It's another tearjerker I think.
I love that's it's always there, waiting for me, and that if I get interrupted it picks up right where I left off without any effort.

funny thing about netflix.
i have had subscription for some time now, because dd was living here and she is an absolute movie nut. i would watch something every now and then, but not really much. then she moved out and i forgot about it.
now my best friend is falling in LOVE with netflix and can't stop raving about it. she watched all the frankie and gracie (or what ever it is called ) and now is watching house of cards and is so into it!
so since she cannot stop talking about it, i guess i will pop in some day and start to watch a little netflix. which actually means i will become absolutely and totally addicted to it.
LOL

Oh, my goodness! We are watching Mad Men right now. We're on Season 5 and are very, very sad that it is going to be over in two more seasons! It is really good!
Not everyone is going to have the same tastes, of course, but others that I can recommend are:
1) Sons of Anarchy (very violent and profane...there is nudity... but excellent acting and story lines) It is my favorite series of all time.
2) Breaking Bad (some violence) but good for the most part.
3) Call the Midwife from PBS...so good! I cry during every episode because the story lines are so very moving
4) Orange is the New Black (different, quirky, funny, but touching parts, too) Just an FYI: There are several lesbian scenes.
5) Longmire...very good acting and story lines. I am hoping that Netflix will produce season 4.
6) Bloodline...Great! It took 5-6 episodes for me to get into it, but then BOOM! I was sucked in and could not quit watching it. Can't wait for Season 2. The acting is superb. And the scenery...wow...

Also...as another poster suggested. Go online to add things that you would like to watch to the list called "My List." Then when you watch Netflix on your TV, you don't have to try to type in titles with a TV remote.
Another poster asked how we are watching Netflix. We watch it on our TV(s). We have a DISH package that has Netflix as an app on the remote but it is also on channel 370. We just go to channel 370, the screen blacks out for a second, and then the red Netflix logo comes up. From there, we just use the DISH remote up and down arrows to select what we want to watch. I think it is a bargain for $7.99.
You go to Netflix online to open an account.

Loved Lilyhamer. Also Pinky Blinders. At this time DH and I are watching the Great War Diary, its a documentary series about WW1 with fantastic ancient film. Netflix is great. We have a "smart TV" and we just push a button and there it is!
