A little off topic here, but I'm really tired of the split screen. It seems un-needed in some cases, Hosts can do fine alone.

It's as if the hosts check out while the vendor is speaking. If they paid attention, they would be able to hear that their unnecessary interruptions would be cutting into the middle of an important sentence or explanation. I once watched an iPad presentation and the vendor was explaining how to do something that was extremely interesting to me. He was showing it step-by-step and before he could finish (right at the important part), SK jumped in and gave an update and made him move on. He never gave us the last steps. I was ticked off. She clearly was not paying attention.
Marlo on HSN does it too. One time she brought it up and defended herself. She said some people on Facebook were upset and told her to let the guests speak without interrupting them. She said when they are trained, they tell the hosts to handle the presentations like they are having a conversation and that you normally wouldn't just sit quiet while one person spoke. Really? Strange. I hate it. Let them speak. The senseless interruptions can wait.

This is a reoccurring problem....and I can even understand if something is about to sell out and they are giving the viewer a heads up....but what I hate is when the hosts interrupts the Vendor with some nonsense--- like a family story, or silly comment unrelated to the conversation....thats why there are a lot of unanswered product questions on the website, and Im sure it impacts returns when customers dont get complete information most of which the Vendor was trying to give....

I know what you are talking about and can't watch Rick because of it. He'll ask the vendor a question, then interrupts before the vendor is finished. Annoys me to no end.

Marlo and HSN need to learn that anyone with good manners should be a good listener too...

It has become more noticeable this year especially. The whole hyper-mode of selling and interrupting has been amped up. I used to think last year that it was because of Skype issues and the delay of a couple of seconds between what the host hears and the vendor responding. But they should be used to that now. Some of the hosts over talk at the very worst time.
At times it's almost comical with both host and off-site presenter talking - at length - simultaneously. It's like they can't hear each other, or one is trying to steam-roll the other. Like children!
@ValuSkr OMG yes! I've noticed that too. Neither wants to back down, or give the other the right of way.

Leah does a good job on split screen. She is quiet and lets the vendor Rep describe the design elements/ functions of an item while she demonstrates waht the vendor is saying. She usually does not talk over the Reps

David is also bad about interrupting and asking non stop how many were ordered on his show. It is to the point that when I see him, Rick, Sandra, Amy and Jane I turn the tv off. If they are previewing something I may be interested in I look online myself. I like the convenience of online shopping but I find myself going to other sites more and more!
