@pigletsmom I am done with school. I just have to take the certification test. My brother in law actually offered to get me into his hospital probably PT but with a FT job I don't know how feasible that would be. He kind of hinted PT would be overnights which doesn't really work if I take the apartment.

I'd love to do nights in retail so I could have my weekends free. It would be extra money plus experience and I could go and probably move where I want to be after a year. I just don't know with a FT job if a retail environment would work with me like that.

I can understand indecision and how difficult it may be to make hard choices but if you can't bite the bullet now, you'll find yourself in the same situation 10 years down the line. Nothing will have changed except your age.

When any of us takes a chance in life, I guarantee you there will be inconvenience, belt-tightening, working long hours and sometimes, exhaustion, but it's not insurmountable. You're bargaining with yourself to find a job with free weekends. Jobs don't come tailor-made. We all have to do things that are inconvenient until we are established. It's just life.

I wish you well in making a choice and sticking to it.

It sounds like you have the financial means to move out of your moms house, you’re just not used to being out on your own with all the expenses that entails. I assume at one point earlier in life you were on your own, living independently. Perhaps you’ve heard a lot of negativity from family over the years and that is affecting your self-confidence?

@bikerbabe Yes I was before I gave it all up to take care of her after her second husband died. And I worry about the pharmacy because I have no experience other than my externship that I finished in January. Employers wonder about breaks like that especially when you never officially did the job outside of school.

And yes my family is very critical at times and I have a lot of negativity at work too. It's definitely a struggle.

My only suggestion is to consider what are your priorities. Is it your career, finances, piece of mind etc. We are all capable of "sucking it up" for a period of time when we see the greater prize. You are the only one who can answer thst question.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

Sounds a bit like nursing school. I need to take the boards as soon as possible after graduation because the longer I wait the greater the chance I won’t pass. Also, it’s pretty much expected that you need to find a job within about six months of getting your license, if not sooner. Longer than that and employers start to wonder what’s wrong. Fortunately, there’s a huge nursing shortage here.

Honestly, all the more reason for you to make use of all that hard work you did in school. Get your license! You earned it! Look for jobs! Start living the future that you want for yourself. Hugs.
