and you could buy ice blocks,
@hopi. I'm so old my mother had a washer with a wringer. We had a milk man while I was in high school.
No ice box though
Yeah, my mom had a washer with a wringer.
And of course we had a milk man. He also delivered orange juice.
We actually had a milk man delivering milk to our house until about 20 years ago. Until DH forgot to cancel the deliveries and I found 5 gallons of spoiled milk in the milk box. ![]()

What I can't stand is seeing those old bags on the 43" HDTV in my room in living color....so I switch to another shopping channel and there they are again...!!!
And I agree....I see NO difference.....
The one that cracks me up is the Nakery demos where they cross thier supposed unwrinkled tightened forearms in front of thier highly wrinkled throats and necks....that they just claimed were tightened up by whatever pretty label product they're pushing today!!!!

I'm old enough to think the MICROWAVE is the "best invention"...

@pigletsmom @Dazlin.... yes I agree I'm not falling for it anymore lol. If you pay attention you'll see the before background is usually white and their faces are slightly frowned, eyebrows furrowed and eyes appear squinted. In the after background is colorful and they are smiling and eyes open making cheeks look plumped and eyes lifted. Same for the neck, the chin looks slightly lowered and the after pic neck looks slightly lifted, ever so slightly. Lol
That's the reason I like Isomers. Manuela doesn't use models her models are her lab "models" which she does her trials with. That's more believable and the scientific evidence and pictures behind it. 🤗

You should be cynical. 95% of the time, there is no difference. Sometimes the woman in the after is smiling when she wasn't in the before. Sometimes they look better in the before which is very funny.

I thought it was just me, because as hard as I try, I don't see much difference either.
@LavernLuvsShoes - the only difference I see is the lighting. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You dont know the meaning of cold until you have to use an outhouse in the winter.

I don't think you are being cynical - you're just being realistic! And I also don't think it has anything to do with being old!
Most of know that beauty products - this is a huge business and they want us all to believe that their product or products will make us look so much younger! I guess if a product makes you feel better, then it's all god -- whether it really makes a difference for real or not!

Yep...the torture of that icy seat would make a Spartan sob!!!!
( Quote appears to be from the poem"Ode to the Outhouse" by
James Whitcome Riley although there's not agreement on WHO wrote the poem....if you've ever had an "outhouse" this poem will ring true and bring back "fond" memories!!!)"
We DID have an outhouse...at our very rural summer camp property in the Poconos that was purchased in 1909. Over time and use, the camp were piped with well water and indoor plumbing but in it's rudimentary camp form, the outhouse was the "place to go".
It was the size of a small phone booth...a "one holer" if you will!!!
I always wondered who in the long lost family of ancient relatives dug the approx 10 foot deep hole BELOW the outhouse....in PA it's very rocky in that that area....or at least 100 pounds of rock to every teaspoon of dirt!!
In the end....the outhouse was mostly neglected. Someone along the way painted the interior pink.Spiders as big as one's hand lived in the outhouse so we were afraid of it....especially the one summer drought we had to use it because there was a severe water shortage for toilet use.....at that time, we learned what really HOT weather meant inside the outhouse!!!
As children in the 1960s, we spent summers at that camp, away from the heat of NYC. No TV, no radio, we played outside from dawn to dusk with neighbor kids who became summer friends. We played cards. We talked. We swam and played in the woods. On Labor Day, we all packed up and returned to the City.
Sometimes we used the outhouse.
They were the best times of my life.
