So, with peanut butter trending in the news, I saw a feature piece last night about how much peanut butter the average American consumes annually. I'm thinking it's relatively low, because of all the allergies to peanuts, nut butters, and cross contamination in facilities.
It's six pounds!
And I'm thinking there's no way I eat that much peanut butter, but then I looked at my jar of Smart Balance and saw that it is indeed 16 ounces.
Between school lunches, after school snacks, and sometimes smoothies, I probably eat double what the "average" American eats. It's one of the items I would have on my desert island list.
