I do agree. I tend to be a worrier and like calm. Unless I know someone personally, I read no blogs and don't want to.

I have no problem with people posting about their own journey, illnesses and such. People who post about others in their lives though, unless they have explicit agreement to do so is a violation of other peoples rights to privacy and that includes children. Based on my own personal experiences, I know my loved ones would have been mortified to have personal details divulged indiscriminately.

ITA with this but do you (or anyone else here) also consider it a violation of other people's right to privacy if someone writes a book about a personal tragedy but changes all the names and uses a pen name?

Re: I am Conflicted Over this New Practice...

I would NEVER open my private life and feelings to a world of strangers. It's not only unwise, it's dangerous too.

I can understand wanting to record these events but it should be kept private. Would you want a potential employer, to use an example, to have a portal to things that are none of his/her business? And what about child predators, se x offenders, and the like? They KNOW how to extract all kinds of information, from what you put on line, that you wouldn't in a million years, want them to know.

But that's just me. If you find you must spill your guts to the 7+ billion people on the planet, please try to at least use good spelling and grammar.

And paragraphs; lot and lots of paragraphs.

In my opinion judging the mother who was blogging about her son who died was beyond anything I can comprehend. I don't know why my original comment was removed.

People deal with death in different ways. Until one has walked in her shoes.....

I went back and read her final posts...she says that she has to move forward for the sake of her two living children & her unborn baby.

I said I am conflicted...I sympathize with her and actually cried over her posts...but I wonder if we are all oversharing. People used to write in diaries with locks on them.
