Re: I Think this was a scam call

While in a medical office waiting room this morning, I overheard a woman telling her daughter about a relative of theirs getting a call about winning the Publishers Clearing House giveaway, and believing it was real!  Their relative actually went to their bank to send the money, and the bank employee told them it was a scam, and they were the 3rd customer that day who had fallen for it and come in to transfer money into the account number they were given!

Re: I Think this was a scam call

I only have a iPhone and have always had it set to only let contacts in, except at night when only 3 people can wake me up.

But last month I got a new phone and carrier, same number, and have been flooded with calls.

Makes me think that a blocked call list does not carry over and the same fools just keep calling for ever.

Re: I Think this was a scam call

I got so many spam calls that I finally unplugged my landline.  I would check my voice mail messages every couple of weeks, and after I missed a call from my doctor's office (I had told them to call my cell phone) I cancelled the landline.  I only use my cell phone now.  I did call the doctor's office after missing that call and asked them to completely remove my landline # from their records.

I quit answering my landline long before I cancelled it, but it was irritating to hear it ring all day long.  I rarely get spam calls on my cell.

@Goodie2shoes  - since you never answer the phone, what would you decide to answer this particular call?
