Re: I SOUND LIKE MY MOTHER WHEN I SAY...

Spoiler

I began to notice that way back when my girls entered the teen years.  Something would come out of my mouth and I'd think "Omg!  I've become my mother".

When we would head out the door, mom would say, "now don't catch cold."

Nothing I say, my mother was one of a kind.

When I was having trouble writing a paper in high-school, "The world is so big, and the point of a pencil is so small."

On her last birthday, "I am just beginning to like myself, and now I have to die."

Miss her every day.  I look a little like her, but she was much prettier.  I am fairly self-aware, but she was the most grounded person I have ever known.  It's how she raised six kids.

These days 90% of what comes out of my mouth sounds like my late Mom

It's not what I say, it's when I laugh that I sound like her.

Oh, how nice.  I bet your mom is laughing right along with you.

When my older brother was teasing and acting obnoxious, she'd say: "Pretend it doesn't bother you.  That will bug him more."  I try to remember that (and have given that advice) when dealing with difficult people.
