I stopped shopping at Target when I had bank cards "compromised" TWICE in a one year period.  My bank abruptly cancelled my card and sent me a new one after transactions at Target.  Twice!

I am sure that the problem happened at Target because it was the only place I'd used both cards.

Although I have no way to prove it, I suspect my transaction at the register was viewed (cameras in the ceiling over every checkout register) and a security person recorded my typing in my pin number.   I should have typed in my pin number with my other hand covering this from ceiling cameras.

(I no longer use my debit card for anything other than getting cash at my ATM, but that's not the point here.)

@Tinkrbl44  I called Target's customer service number, I spoke to a nice guy, I am getting a gift card for $9.00. He didn't understand why they wouldn't give me a refund.

Oh, good.   You shouldn't have been inconvenienced and had to make the call in the first place.

If it were me, I would still report him because Management needs to know what this person is (or isn't) doing for customers.  It should be on his record for review by his supervisor.  Was this person lazy, or in need of re-training?   They need to know.

You might think that is taking it too far, but from the posts here,  it looks like Target has a LOT of improving to do.  JMO

I also had a problem with Target... I was at the checkout line, the cashier had checked out half of my purchases, suddenly a Manager walked over to the cashier and told him to void out my order and go help with a curbside pickup, pronto! So the cashier voided my order and said sorry you will have to go to another line to check out and start over again....  I was as mad as a hornet...I asked for the Manager and told her why couldnt he finish my order (there were just a few items left) or why didnt she tell  the woman at the self checkout station go help curbside there was no one there....or why couldnt she finish checking me out....And her answer was "sorry curbside is a priority per Corporate".....  I left my merchandise there and walked out of the store after confirming my order was voided.... Then I went across the highway to Walmart to make my purchases....  If Target says they are struggling with sales with stories like ours we know why....Woman Frustrated

Did you report the incident?  Seems very wrong ....

I completed a feedback form and never heard back from Target......

@Jordan2. So if it was the exact same product, why didn't you just buy it again at the cheaper price, kept it intact with the packaging, and used your first recept for the more costly one to return the second one?

@Pearlee   This has already been suggested several times.

Very bad customer service.  Most other stores would have done the adjustment.  All they need is on the receipt.

Do be aware that not all stores will adjust prices.

@Jordan2   How are you getting a gift card....in the mail, by e-mail or in person?

I got an e-mail saying my e-mail gift card was attached, but there was nothing in the e-mail.  It was blank.

Best of luck, I hope you get your money back.

I find it strange that Target balls at  refund ina money with cash or credit your original CC, they only seem to issue gift cards if they can get away with it.

So, a week ago today I went to Target to buy a computer mouse. There was one on sale for $11.99, I saw one I liked better, a Logitech mouse for $20.99 and bought it. I take it out of the packaging, it works great and kept it, getting rid of the packaging. So I see the mouse is on sale this week for $8.00 less and went this morning with my receipt to get an adjust. The woman at customer service says because it's a new week she can't go into the computer to do it. I would have to return it and repurchase it ( with the packaging I no longer have). I spoke to the manager and got the same story. I was going to shop there but was so angry I said to them I'm going to Walmart to get what I need, they didn't care. I had my receipt, they can see that I bought the mouse, it's not good customer service to make a customer unhappy. I do keep packaging for more expensive items, but why would anyone hold on to packaging for a nothing item?

@Jordan2 @This is how their computer system is set up. The store has no control over this.

Their own website says 14 days.

If you find a current lower price within 14 days after purchase, just bring in the proof and we will adjust your payment to the lower price, upon request. Target store price matches and adjustments are completed at the store on any lane. For Target.com purchases, call Target.com Guest Services

@hippiechick7897 @They are adjust the payment to the lower price. They just must give a refund, then a repurchase if the adjustment occurs in the week following the purchase. It's no big deal. Customers still get the lower price.
