Re: I NOW HATE CHRISTMAS THANKS TO QVC!

Turn off the TV then & watch something you don't hate!

Re: I NOW HATE CHRISTMAS THANKS TO QVC!

Reading your 'vent'is quite 'eye-opening'!  What are you so angry or bitter about?  The people that bought you 'that plastic c**p' were trying to do something nice!  If you believe this, then stop shopping on QVC at Christmas time!  Many others enjoy Christmas in July.

Re: I NOW HATE CHRISTMAS THANKS TO QVC!

Christmas is too commercialized; most of us will agree. I hate seeing Fourth of July and Thanksgiving decor out at the same time...now they have added Christmas to the mix at many of the stores here. "One holiday at a time" is my motto.
I also know that many need to shop early due to shipping, etc, but July is just too early.

@CABRIT the fact is though it's not Christmas time,  I don't watch, nor even turn on QVC until November.  I prefer to celebrate Christmas as the holiday it's meant to be, the birth of my Savior, and also a chance to spend happy times with family.  Gifts don't mean much to us, only to the children.  I don't need to spend 6 months anticipating Christmas.

Since it seems that things ordered sit in "process", then "packaging" for such a long time, the orders will actually arrive in time.

Just a guess.

Had the same thought.  Maybe ordering 5 months ahead of time we will have them by Xmas.

Re: I NOW HATE CHRISTMAS THANKS TO QVC!

@Venezia   News flash - the true meaning of Christmas is not at all about spending money on stuff to give to others, at least it isn't for me. You should think about this for a minute.

Trust me I've had more than my share of stuff given to me from family members and my husband that had no meaning or feeling behind the gifts. I became tired and weary of that. People give gifts to others that they really want themselves, I really do not understand that. The gift was from someone who thought the gift was great and that it would be perfect for me but it wasn't and then I'm stuck with something I cannot wear, I do not want or need. Then I am the one who needs to return it. What a waste of time and money from the buyer.

Many many years ago when my dear Dad was alive, it was so much more important to him to just have his family together on Christmas and/or throughout the holidays. This is what Christmas means - or meant to us. We did not need to buy each other stuff

I've purchased lots of gifts through the years for my nephews and nieces and what I observed was them tearing into wrappings and boxes pull out what they received, look at it for a minute or two and then toss it on the floor to only move to another package. Where's the fun in that? Where's the meaning behind that? In the end they didn't even remember who gave them what present.

People are ungrateful for stuff they receive, I don't care who they are nor how young or old. Maybe the buyer didn't even really have the money to buy gifts but they made the effort and the recipient does this? And then the recipient doesn't even say thank you.

Because of all of this, many years ago I have told others to not buy me gifts. I have also told others to donate to a charity, I've also learned people do not want to do this type of 'gift giving'. They don't call this gift giving and that's fine with me.

I don't need gifts, packages to open. This is not what Christmas means to me. Say what you want, don't buy me anything. Personally I do not like your idea of Christmas either.

I swear, it's as if people only get one channel on their television.

I think you are right about this. Not only do they have just one channel they seem to be tied to a chair and forced to watch QVC.  Happens every year.

I would wager to bet that for every Christmas show there are at least 10 fashion shows, beauty shows and other shows that I do not watch.  These shows don't interest me but I am happy that others like these shows. I don't understand why some folks get so worked up and mad about QVC programing.

For those that don't like the Christmas programming, if you check the program guide you'll see that the entire month of July is not all Christmas.  Most holiday programming is confined to the weekends.
