Re: I Must Be An Unsociable Introvert

That's nice for the OP others who unquestioningly choose to be under house arrest; for the rest of us (and we are legion. Believe it), not so much.

For myself personally I don't enjoy this at all.  Can't even buy a bag of soil or mulch....no paint no nothing for home improvement.  Can't fish alone on a boat....can't do anything!

I will wear a mask and wash my hands....no problems...begin lifting this shut down where I am.  I need to go out and about in life....and I am more on the introverted side of the coin.

@tsavorite  It depends on your Governor. Nurseries, paint stores, all home improvement stores. Restaurants for take out or delivery(cocktails included) delis, bakeries and many more are all opened in our state. NY.

Unlike many, I am enjoying every single day of this isolation.  Do not misunderstand, I wish no one to have the virus, but my days are full and I don't have to leave home.  I am tired when I go to bed.

Every day, I work out with zoom, Facebook, or the Y online, so I am seeing others, but I don't need to travel.  I cook, bake, read, do watercolor, a little spring cleaning, a little tv watching, jigsaw puzzles, and taking care of my pets.  I text and email friends.  Groceries can be delivered.  When the weather breaks, I will do some gardening.  While I love traveling, I can view many things from my computer--not the same, but doable.

Obviously, there is something wrong with me, but I am loving this.

I've always been a homebody.  I don't dislike travel but prefer being at home.  Maybe this would be harder on me if my circumstances were different.  But I'm working from home.  I talk to coworkers and friends each day.  I bought the house next door to my parents and my brother is staying with me.  I have my rescue kitties to take care of as well.  So I am not lonely.  I can binge watch shows with my Mom.  Or discuss home remodeling ideas with my Dad.  I'm locked down with the people I love so this works for me.  My brother can't wait for things to safely open up.  He and my Dad miss their bowling leagues, going to movies, and eating out.

@proudlyfromNJ  Ya MI was the only state in the nation with such insane restrictions.  Finally I can buy a packet of seeds or paint...as of Friday.

Re: I Must Be An Unsociable Introvert

Since I'm at least 50% loner, this is easy.  Now, for my dad who needs to move and get some basic medical care from a specialist, it's awful.  Luckily we do have a shaded park for a walk for those times he'll cooperate.

I am the opposite.   Need to be around people alot. Since I live alone I was able to accomplish this by still working part time at a lovely school; which of course is now closed.  I also have a big extended family - lots of little kids that I can no longer visit with.  The end of this can't come soon enough for me.

@SXMGirl

To the contrary, it sounds like you are a very well adjusted woman who enjoys her own company, is self-motivated, has many interests, and loves her home and is very content! I hear so much talk on t.v. about people doing all sorts of crazy things because they are so needing and wanting to have social interaction.  We are all different and some feel the need to be constantly with others and other are perfectly happy finding ways to fill their days!  I have always been sort of a loner myself.  As a child, I spent a lot of time by myself and learned how to occupy myself and found many ways to amuse myself.  I really miss at this point though going out to eat and going shopping and seeing a friend or relative once in awhile but for the most part, I am not suffering as many are!
