Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

Our low was 84 one night...and we just got our electric bill yesterday...the highest it has ever been...the ceiling fans help a lot...I can’t sleep without one going along with the a/c. We have a neighbor one block over who insists on putting his cat outside for days at a time,,she comes directly to our backyard to kill birds and harass the squirrels. She won’t eat the food I put out and is fat as a pig so I think she works the neighborhood. I worry about her in this heat.

Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

I started to feel woozy from the heat yesterday, but that was after a hike in the AM, and an afternoon shopping outside (we were on a mini-vacation).  We did go back to our hotel for a nap before dinner.  Man Happy

Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

It's been a rough summer - too much humidity. My husband takes these things in stride but I tend to complain. Probably because I think my UTI hasn't completely cleared up and I feel uncomfortable. I suppose I had better give my doctor a call tomorrow. Other people on the Wellness board mentioned needing two rounds of antibiotics to clear up their infections.

It's hot here at the Jersey shore but we still did a 60 block round trip bike ride this morning. It was misty out and it felt so good. Was drenched when we got done tho. Showered. Sat at the shoreline in our beach chairs for over an hr at noon time and no Sun to be seen. So it was enjoyable. Showered when we got home. Just hit the back yard with the lawn mower and will jump in the shower again! Outside shower...sooo refreshing. Will sit outside on the deck tonite and have a little wine. I love summer!!!

Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

I am in suburban NYC. I was out early and it was warm then after dinner we sat at the lake and it had cooled off.

Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

As I get older heat bothers me more.  Luckily we don't usually have humidity here in the PNW.  When I lived in So Cal I thought nothing of playing tennis at 85 degrees but it is a drier heat there.  .

Re: I Made The Mistake Of Going Outside!

I find the older I'm getting the less I can tolerate the heat.  Our summer here is just horrible.  I don't even want to walk out to the beach because I don't want to get out in that hot sun AT ALL!  I stay indoors in the AC all day.  I do get wiped out being outside.

Here in Tucson, I get hot water out of both taps on my sink!  Once the cold water that's in the pipes that's been somewhat cooled in the air conditioned interior walls runs out & I get water from the main out in the street, the temp of my cold water is 94°, which is almost warm enough to shower in.
