I went out to refill the outside cats water dishes. DD had put fresh water out this morning but what was left was warm. We even put ice cubes in to try and keep it cold for them. Going out the door it was like stepping into an oven.
Holy cow, it's just beastly 95 and the humidity just nuts.
I actually feel half sick from the heat. The house isn't terrible yet. It gets bad from 5 to 7 o'clock even with an air conditioner in the LR and fans all over.
Anyone else actually feel sick from the heat?

Today the heat index is 105. I had to go out and I ended up with a headache. Like you, I have my AC going and several fans. The heat really drains me.

I live in the Finger Lakes district of upstate NY. It is almost 100 degrees. It's scary to those of us who have lived here long enough to know how bizarre and abnormal this is. Those who reject that climate change is real will be condemned to live with it.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I never left the house today except to feed the neighborhood stray cat. She arrives everyday early in the morning.... It is 94 degrees and the humidity is awful. I can not deal with the heat so I know better than to attempt anything outdoors. Yes..the heat actually makes me feel sick. Guess I'm just not a summer person. Never was....never will be.

I went out about 8pm last night for a food run. The thermometer in the car registered 100° outside. It's supposed to cool off a bit this coming week with a daily chance of showers (monsoon season). My whole house has good AC so I don't suffer.

I went right to the freezer, got an ice pack and wrapped it in a thin towel. I put it behind me at the base of my spine.
It helps some.
I asked my daughter why 70 degrees overnight is warm and uncomfortable but 70 degrees during the day is fine.

I feel so bad for the feral animals in this heat. Thanks to those providing food and water for these of God's creatures.

I did the exact same thing, love Trader Joe’s on a summer Saturday night LOL. We’ve had a little bit of rain from the monsoon but like you, late next week is supposed to be active so fingers crossed. We keep our thermostat around 80 which probably sounds crazy to most people, but it’s very comfortable when you’ve acclimated to the desert.

It's 98 today in VA. Tomorrow will be 103! I walked Snickers at 6 this morning 1/2 mile around my circle, then again at 9. It was much hotter then!
We've been out several times but I just took her down the driveway making her walk on grass. Just down the street a bit. Returning I picked her up due to hot cement on her paws. We've been lazy inside today with curtains drawn. Eating less, drinking Gatorade.
No walks tonight except fast breaks! It does make me feel drained of energy since it's been hot so long without much rain.
This morning I gave up on the grass and just watered the Rhododendrons. I hope we get some rain!
