It used to be so much fun to watch the award shows to see all the beautiful dresses and gowns, and Hollywood was glamourous and set the fashion trends.....BUT NO MORE--- Now they wear as little as possible to get noticed and get that publicity!!! And Hollywood no longer sets fashion trends..they dress so awful no one wants to imitate them!!!.(and gee i'm not really all that old!)
I thought it was funny when I read that Madonna's kids were embarrassed about the "coffee table" book Madonna did where she posed nude in pictures. She embarrased her own biological kids ages 20 and 17.... (I guess her kids have morals and she doesnt)
Are you saying that women who pose nude have no morals?
They may have morals, but we're certainly free to suspect they don't.

Yes! she's an exhibitionist and the photos were also "suggestive"...couldnt give details because its against Forum rules.....
Just like all the "naughty" photos people send from their phones to their SO and then they break up and the subject of the photos gets outraged and some sue because now their EX posted the photos on social media to the public---so if nudity is perfectly acceptable then why are they so upset.....And there was a court case 2 teenagers involved and the judge said they could be charged with distribution of PORNOGRAPHY!
What about RESPECT for other women, as well as what that woman is saying about herself...Also is there a correlation between the way some people dress and the lack of respect for women and harrassment women are subjected to......????????????

@bathina Not since I was a child have I seen a Catholic nun covered up as you describe. Today, most wear a black or navy skirt to the middle of their knees, a white blouse and a vest. Their stocking are sheer. Usually no head coverings, but some still do wear a small veil with their hair showing in the front.
Some nuns wear a basic modest dress in navy or black instead of the skirt. There're might be order or two who are covered from head to toe, but it is rare.
My daughter's best friend is a nun and when she comes to visits, most people have no idea because her clothing fits right in with everyone else.

Ha! Yet another thread couched as observational when it’s really just an excuse to disparage others. Welcome to the hen house. Click cluck

I live right down the street from a large convent. I see these nuns all the time. They are completely covered from head to toe and wear a black opaque veil covering their hair (not their face). They are not wearing habits, but very conservative street clothing. The veil distinguishes them.
I have no issue with what they wear for religious reasons. Just as I have no issues with any other religions that restrict the type of clothing adherents wear. I do take issue with government mandating that you can or cannot wear certain items of clothing. Thank goodness we don't have to deal with that in the US.

They want to be on the news and will do and/or say just about anything to get publicity.
Bingo!!! I think the easist way for any "celebrity" to get noticed is via their outfits ..... the papparazzi are always looking for the best shots, which always means more money for them .... this is nothing new .... just less material in the clothing these days.

@Pook What you are describing is anarchy. We have laws and standards of acceptible dress in public. Those should certainly be judged and enforced. So yes it is a duty and an obligation of citizens and law enforcement to JUDGE and that's what we are supposed to do.
Otherwise we have anarchy. Chaos. So you simply don't believe there are limits and rights and wrongs? Anything goes? Please let us know.
And the Amaish do judge. They are quite happy to shun someone and cast them out for not following their rules. And here we are talking about US laws, not laws in some other country where nudity or near is customary there.
Wait a minute. You think there should be laws agains dressing in skimpy clothes? Or are you talking about complete nuditI'm y? Should someone showing cleavage or wearing super tight, short shorts be arrested or cited? Exactly what are you saying here? I'm trying to get clarification because your comment seems totally over-the-top and militant.
I'm wondering, too, what poster here want to happen.
Should there be dress codes for all public places? Should there be citations given out if your skirt length doesn't meet some legal requirement? Should you be ticketed for showing over a determined amount of cleavage?
If people don't like how others dress then that's their prerogative and right. But do they want others to be penalized by the law for dressing in a way that they determine is "immodest"?

I would look no further than the top of the food chain in this country. If posing nude shows lack of morals, we should start there.
Naughty photos are private and should not be shared, but unfortunately those who send them are usually not expecting a partner would humiliate them. About 25 years ago, I lived in a busy city. I came out of my apartment and found hundreds of polaroids of my neighbor, naked. Her ex had made copies and tossed them all over the sidewalks up and down the street. This type of thing is not new.

So, should modern nun wear be the standard by which we judge other women?
Handcuff me now and haul me off.

Sorry, but I'm going to say something that will annoy many ..... in so many cases, every day people were never taught to dress properly by their mothers .... yes, their MOTHERS.
When we were kids, moms were the parents who taught youngsters how to dress, and what was and wasn't appropriate. It was part of teaching life skills that we would need in adulthood.
No longer are children taught how to dress appropriately, they are allowed to dress however they want to "express themselves".
Huge difference, but clearly some don't get it ........
