Just get rid of the landline and be done with it.

We don't answer calls that we know are bogus, but we can't just block all.
I get what you are saying. There are several people from those in my doctors offices that call. Depends on what "out line" they use what number shows up.
Solved that by giving them my wife's cell phone number as a secondary. Only time that "thing" isn't near her is when she is sleeping. She has been gone Pet Sitting going on 2 weeks, but yesterday she called to tell me my Cardiologist's nurse wanted to talk with me.
She asked the nurse to call our home number in 10 minutes. My wife called/I turned off the Call Block, and wallah! I spoke with the nurse. My wife is fine with because she likes the landline call block feature.
That's our way around missing important calls, and still not being bombarded with our phone ringing unnecessarily.

I gave up my landline a two or three years ago because of these calls. I would get ten calls a day from the same place. I blocked every call, but they would call back from a different #. Of course I was on the "Do Not Call" list, but it doesn't do a thing.
I unplugged the phone for a while and occasionally checked voice mails. No one ever called me on that phone anyway. One time I checked it and had a message from my doctor's office, and that's when I cancelled the phone altogether. It was nice not to have it anymore.
I did have to make sure to tell my doctor's office to completely remove that # from my account. My cell phone is through Verizon, and they have a good spam blocker included with my plan. The identified spam #'s don't even come through. The others come through and say something like "likely spam" and I send them to Voice Mail. I don't get many of these.

Who on earth still has a landline phone?? And then you complain that you're getting spam calls! Ya think??

We don't have a land line anymore. The constant robo calls was one reason why. I still get them on my cell phone but not nearly as much. I don't answer if I don't recognize number and most times it says "potential spam." Then I block it. Never answer.

I only answer my phone when I recognize the caller. Otherwise, I block it or it goes to voice mail. If it's a legitimate call and they start to leave a message, I then answer the call.

I just let it go to voice mail. Never answer it anymore. I get a lot of "ghost calls" Just the phone ringing off of computer generated calls. Nobody on the other end. Just to see if anyone is at home for future spam calls.

@ID2 I have a landline. I live in a very rural area and get spotty service on my cell phone. Walk up the street to get a full bar so I can use it. I keep the cell phone to have with me when I am out so if there is an emergency I can use it or people can get ahold of me.

I'm one of those people who still have a landline!
I realize cell phones are much more advanced, but there had been some instances in the past (i.e., 9/11, black-outs) when cell calls could not go thru. Plus there is no savings on my overpriced cable bill if I eliminate it. I live in what was once a "rural" area and cell service here stinks. I do use my landline phone to make calls because of that.
What cracks me up is that I had to change my house phone #, from the same cable company, when I moved to a new apartment in my development. I don't even know the phone #, have never given out the number, my sister and family do not have the number, yet I get a good 5 or 6 calls a day. I let them go to voicemail. No one ever leaves a message.
