I appreciate the hearts I get from my fellow posters. When the changes were made posters were told if they like what they see they can give hearts. I think it took away from the chit chat and feeling of camaraderie along with the opportunity to make new friends. Personally I miss it...does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Personally, for me, I like the hearts. I have the opposite feeling ... I feel it brings people closer. It's a connection.

I think it eliminates some of the "fights"............you can agree with someone without a third party jumping in and calling you an idiot..............

I like the hearts, lets me know others are interested in my take on the post and that my response is welcome.

It's just you.

I don't post much anymore because I just come and heart posts I like or heart someone to say hello and then I'm off.

I think that if someone read a post on the boards they agreed with, they would by pass it. Now you know someone agrees with you and you can talk to each other. Do you know how to message another poster,
Lindsays Grandma?

@Lindsays Grandma
I doubt you are the "only one" that feels this way, but I don't feel that way at all. The closest to "chit-chat" I have seen on this BB, is back 14 years ago when there were only 4-6 Forums.
The more Forums that were added the more the "chit-chat" disappeared. With fewer Forums, a person saw the same posters more often, thus staying it touch. To me that is where things here started to separate cyberfriends. Combine that with each, so-called upgrades, the more posters found it too hard and time consuming to learn the new formats.

I agree. I think the hearts have created a stronger sense of community. There used to be posts about members feeling invisible which I no longer see. I think the hearts let people know that their thoughts matter; they’re acknowledged and appreciated. I also feel like I’ve gotten to know people better since the hearts. I always look to see who hearts my post and it helps me get to know other posters.

I like the hearts too, I was never a person who responded to every single post that I liked or agreed with. Who has the time or energy for that? But with the hearts, I can give a "thumbs up" or "great post" without actually answering the post. And I thinking the hearts reduces some of those long, long, long responses where people copy (why????) the entire 53 previous responses.
