Re: I Haven't Gotten Notice From SS For 2026 Amount

I just logged into my account, the notice was sent to me 11/26, in SSA account,
my insurance went up, and the slight 2.8% increase makes it pretty even to what monthly payments have been.

Re: I Haven't Gotten Notice From SS For 2026 Amount

@nascarfan    I tried to call yesterday and was on hold forever.  Tried again, was on hold and got disconnected.  Will have to spend the week trying to get a human being.

Went online to make an appointment at the local (30 miles from me).  Answered a bunch of questions to see if actually need an appointment. It didn't hive me a option for appt.  Evidently, it deemed I don't need one.

Yes, I'm complaining.  My dealings with SS in the past were not this much rigamarole.   Didn't take forever to speak with someone and when my husband died I called and made an appointment right off the bat.

You can't get rid of a big chunk of the workforce and have things run like it did.

If I made an account I never looked at the stupid thing, ever.  I had no need to.

Again, if I don't link to Login.gov what are they going to do to me.

I just received mine in today's mail delivery.  Don't be surprised at the increase...errrrr should I say lack of decent increase.  My net increase is $44.  Big whopping $44.

Mine is a whopping $26.00. Medicare costs went from $185 to 202.90, an increase of $17.90. Net monthly increase for me is $8.10. What should I buy?!? Two pounds of ground beef? Oops, won't cover it.

@coconut1818 @Scorpio1971  The COLA increase is based on the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI-W) from the third quarter of 2024 through the third quarter of 2025, Social Security beneficiaries and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive a 2.8 percent COLA for 2026.

@walkingal yes I know how it's calculated & what it's based upon.  Thank you for clarifying in case others are not aware.  It does not unfortunately reflect our current cost of living now due to current inflation & tariffs we have been hit with & must live with for next 3 years.  So we all must pay even more out of our checks now for basically most items we need until tariffs are removed.

A lot of the government worked very well until a chainsaw was haphazardly taken to it.

I mentioned before that you will get an option to keep your place in line if you leave your number. I could not be seen in person either

Re: I Haven't Gotten Notice From SS For 2026 Amount

I opted to get notices from them online so don't get anything in the mail (our USPS leaves much to be desired and sometimes I go an entire week without even junk mail), but got the notice on Friday that it was available. I accessed it this morning. As mentioned, it's not a lot but I'll take any crumbs they want to send my way.
