My dil had her second colonoscopy in July. Even though she is only 39 she is tested early due to colon cancer in her family. There was no isolation prior. I even spent the night with them so my son could at the crack of dawn without disturbing my grandchildren. I guess it depends on where you live and the place conducting the procedures.

The whole "quarantine" thing is on the honor system anyway .
I mean, sure, a doctor or clinic could say "quarantine at home for x number of days", but really, how are they going to know that (universal) you did?
Unless they have a guard posted in front of your home, who reports directly to them, how are they going to know that the patient is telling the truth when the patient says that they complied with the order, because you know that people are gonna lie and say that they were quarantined, when in fact, they weren't.

I'm sure that is the case but I can guarantee it wouldn't be the case for me. If they tell me I have to quarantine, I'm going to quarantine.
If someone has an issue, then they should reschedule their test or procedure to a time when they don't have to.
I'm not having my procedure done at the Cleveland Clinic but I did look at their website about this and it states that quarantining after you are tested is "suggested."

Interesting. What state do you live in or I should ask is your area a hot spot for the virus.

Yes, you would quarantine, but you have to admit, that not everyone would, and no, they wouldn't reschedule the appointment.

You'll live.
As always, compassion and understanding.
What are people supposed to do who have kids to shuttle around, a job to go to daily, aging parents to drop in on daily for medication checks etc.
Some retired people can lock down for days on end but in real life, most everyone I know still has a job to go to, and family that needs daily care/help/support etc.
Not to mention if you live with others that have to come and go to work/school etc.
Not exactly doable for many people.

I have been home for two weeks since I last went to the grocery store... you will be just fine for three days. Fast on juice for three days too NO solid food...... it makes the cleanse part of the procedure much easier without food in your intestine to have to get out.... just a suggestion. I also took some herbal laxatives to help with the cleanse. The prep for me was so easy as I was clean already!

I suppose that any preventative practices may help us during medical procedures. Unfortunately, every state, every city, and every hospital are mandating certain protocols that may not be required elsewhere. Unless and until we have one country- one set of science-backed rules, we will continue to screw everything up.

They haven't said anything but I just told my DH last night that I wondered if I was going to have to get tested and then isolate until my procedure.
It makes perfect sense but I'm not going to be happy if that is the case because they should have told me that. When the procedure was scheduled they told me I'd be tested but never said anything and when the hospital called to pre-register me for the procedure, they told me I would be called to set up the Covid test but she never said anything about isolation either.
@Lipstickdiva when I had my Covid test for my surgery at the time the results couldn't be more than 3 days old, the office was adamant about that. I sweated out getting my results back in time, I received the results ( through a patient portal the night before my surgery). The day of my surgery June 17, they changed the time you could get the test to no more than five days. A lot of people weren't getting their results back in time hence the change.

I can relate. There's a huge psychological difference between staying home and away from strangers, and being told you must stay home and away from strangers.
I'd say try to forget why you're isolating, right up until the moment you need to actually prep for the test.
