You'd be quarantined at home the day before the procedure anyway. Believe me, you do not want to be far away from your bathroom with all the prep stuff you have to take.

OK I assume they must be doing the rapid Covid 19 test. If you are negative, they don't want risk getting infected. Three days is nothing, that would not bother me at all. I self quarantined for 3 months and even now, I'm semi quarantined. Yesterday hubby and I went to vote, then to the grocery store, then to get some Chinese takeout and I felt like I'd been on a week long vacation. LOL I hadn't seen that many people since March. LOL

You'll live.
As always, compassion and understanding.
What are people supposed to do who have kids to shuttle around, a job to go to daily, aging parents to drop in on daily for medication checks etc.
Some retired people can lock down for days on end but in real life, most everyone I know still has a job to go to, and family that needs daily care/help/support etc.
Not to mention if you live with others that have to come and go to work/school etc.
Not exactly doable for many people.
@Mominohio Thank you! My thoughts exactly. Must be nice to be able to do that without pay.

Good luck with your quarantine. Come back after your colonoscopy and let us know how it went.

They haven't said anything but I just told my DH last night that I wondered if I was going to have to get tested and then isolate until my procedure.
It makes perfect sense but I'm not going to be happy if that is the case because they should have told me that. When the procedure was scheduled they told me I'd be tested but never said anything and when the hospital called to pre-register me for the procedure, they told me I would be called to set up the Covid test but she never said anything about isolation either.
@Lipstickdiva when I had my Covid test for my surgery at the time the results couldn't be more than 3 days old, the office was adamant about that. I sweated out getting my results back in time, I received the results ( through a patient portal the night before my surgery). The day of my surgery June 17, they changed the time you could get the test to no more than five days. A lot of people weren't getting their results back in time hence the change.
@Jordan2 , I just pre-registered and they told me 48-72 hours and I have to have it done at their facility so I'm guessing they will make sure I get the results back in time. This particular hospital will not allow people to be tested without a doctor's order. I have been told I cannot just go anywhere for a test. Maybe that is why?

Always like seeing people getting a Colonoscopy. Doesn't sound too bad to me about staying away from others during your Prep. I know with my many Colonoscopies, during prep those people would be in the bathroom much of the time. Well, at least one of those 3 days.
I have been alone here, except for our furry kids, for going on 2 weeks now. My wife is coming home from Pet Sitting today, but! She will be leaving again tomorrow for over a week for another Pet Sitting job.
I say, enjoy your time alone. While I would rather my wife be home, she is doing what she loves, and being alone(quarantined) to me isn't the worst thing that has happened.

I haven't seen anyone else mentioning this, but when my mom had an EGD in July (California) w/biopsy she had 2 Covid tests: first one 3 days before the procedure and the second test the morning of the procedure.

@Kachina624 I've been home since March. I try to keep busy, and I contact a BFF or a sibling, etc. daily.
